Setup
1. Powering the Console
- Insert 3 x AAA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment of the LCD display console.
- Connect the DC power adapter to the console and plug it into a power outlet. The console will power on and display initial readings.
2. Assembling the Outdoor Sensor Array
The 7-in-1 outdoor sensor array requires minimal assembly:
- Attach the wind cups to the wind speed sensor shaft.
- Attach the wind vane to the wind direction sensor shaft.
- Ensure the rain collector funnel is clear of debris.

3. Powering the Outdoor Sensor
The outdoor sensor is primarily solar-powered but requires backup batteries:
- Insert 2 x AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment of the outdoor sensor. These batteries provide power during periods of low light or at night.
- The integrated solar panel will charge the internal capacitor and power the unit during daylight hours.
4. Mounting the Outdoor Sensor
For accurate readings, the outdoor sensor should be mounted in an open area, away from obstructions that could affect wind, rain, or sunlight. Recommended mounting locations include a pole in a garden or on a roof. Ensure the solar panel faces south for optimal charging.

5. Wi-Fi Configuration
To enable internet connectivity and PC software operation, configure the Wi-Fi settings:
- Download the "WS View Plus" or "Ecowitt" app from your smartphone's app store (available on Google Play and Apple App Store).
- Follow the in-app instructions to connect the console to your home Wi-Fi network. This typically involves connecting your phone to the console's temporary Wi-Fi hotspot and then providing your home Wi-Fi credentials.
- Once connected, the console can upload data to Ecowitt Weather, Weather Underground, Weather Cloud, and WOW.

PC Software Operation
The WS2320 supports PC software for monitoring and setting values. The software is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, or 10. Refer to the user manual (digital version) for the download link. This software allows for detailed data logging, analysis, and configuration beyond the console's direct interface.

Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the accuracy and longevity of your weather station:
- Rain Gauge: Periodically check and clean the rain collector funnel to remove leaves, insects, or other debris that could obstruct the tipping bucket mechanism.
- Wind Sensors: Ensure the wind cups and wind vane spin freely. Remove any obstructions like spiderwebs or dirt.
- Solar Panel: Keep the solar panel on the outdoor sensor clean to ensure efficient charging. Wipe it gently with a soft, damp cloth.
- Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in both the console and outdoor sensor annually, or when low battery indicators appear, to prevent data loss or system malfunction.
- Sensor Calibration: If you suspect inaccurate readings, refer to the advanced sections of the full user manual for sensor calibration procedures.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No outdoor data on console | Batteries low/dead in outdoor sensor; sensor out of range; interference. | Replace outdoor sensor batteries. Move console closer to sensor. Check for strong interference sources. Re-sync sensor with console (refer to manual). |
| Inaccurate rain readings | Rain gauge blocked; sensor not level. | Clean rain collector funnel. Ensure sensor is mounted perfectly level. |
| Wind speed/direction not working | Wind cups/vane obstructed; sensor not spinning freely. | Clear any obstructions. Check for physical damage to moving parts. |
| Wi-Fi connection issues | Incorrect Wi-Fi password; console too far from router; network issues. | Double-check Wi-Fi password. Move console closer to router. Restart router and console. Ensure 2.4GHz Wi-Fi is used. |
