5. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of your Thermoflow water heater. It must be installed by a licensed professional.

Installation Requirements

• Location: Install the unit as close as possible to the point of use to minimize heat loss. It can be mounted vertically or upside down (under-sink or over-sink).
• Water Supply: Connect to a cold water supply. The unit has 1/2" NPT pipe fittings. Ensure water pressure is within 15-115 PSI.
• Electrical Supply: Requires a dedicated 240V, 30 Amp circuit. Must be hard-wired with 1 x 12 AWG wire. A 2-pole 30 AMP breaker is required (not included).

2. Plumbing Connections: Connect the cold water inlet to the unit's inlet port and the hot water outlet to the fixture's hot water line. Ensure all connections are tight and leak-free.

3. Electrical Connections: Connect the unit to the dedicated 240V, 30 Amp circuit. Follow all local electrical codes. The unit has a 28" fixed power cable for hardwiring.
4. Purge Air: Before turning on power, open the hot water faucet at the sink and allow water to flow through the unit for several minutes until all air is purged from the system. This prevents dry heating.
