5. Setup Instructions
Follow these steps to connect your XOLORspace HDSP0013M1 HDMI Splitter:
- Connect HDMI Source: Using a high-quality HDMI cable, connect your HDMI source device (e.g., Blu-ray player, game console, set-top box) to the HDMI IN port on the splitter.
- Connect Display 1: Using a high-quality HDMI cable, connect your primary display (e.g., 4K TV) to the HDMI OUT1 port on the splitter.
- Connect Display 2: Using a high-quality HDMI cable, connect your secondary display (e.g., 1080p TV or projector) to the HDMI OUT2 port on the splitter.
- Connect Power: Plug the provided 5V DC power adapter into the DC 5V port on the splitter, then plug the adapter into a power outlet.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Automatic Downscaling Functionality
The HDSP0013M1 features an automatic downscaling function. If your input source is 4K@60Hz HDR and one of your connected displays is a 1080p display (HDCP 1.3/1.4 compatible), the splitter will automatically downscale the signal for that specific output to 1080p@60Hz, while maintaining 4K@60Hz HDR for the other compatible display. This allows for simultaneous viewing on mixed resolution displays.

Important Note: This downscaling feature does not support Dolby Vision content when downscaling to 1080p. Also, the splitter does not perform frequency downscaling; for example, a 4K@30Hz input will be downscaled to 1080p@30Hz, not 1080p@60Hz.
6.2. Audio EDID Management
The splitter provides EDID management options for audio to ensure compatibility with your audio receiver or sound system. Use the 'Min' or 'Max' switch on the device to adjust the audio EDID settings:
- Min: Typically selects the lowest common audio format supported by all connected displays/receivers. This can help resolve audio compatibility issues.
- Max: Attempts to select the highest audio format supported.
Adjust this setting if you experience audio dropouts or no audio output.
6.3. LED Indicators
The LEDs on the top panel provide status information:
- Power LED: Illuminates when the device is powered on.
- IN LED: Illuminates when an active HDMI signal is detected on the input port.
- OUT1/OUT2 LEDs: Illuminate when an active HDMI signal is being sent to the respective output port.
- 2.0/1.4/1.3 LEDs: Indicate the detected HDCP version of the connected displays.
7. Important Considerations
- HDMI Cable Quality: Signal flickering or instability is often caused by HDMI cables. For optimal performance, especially with 4K@60Hz HDR signals and cable lengths exceeding 3 meters, use high-quality HDMI 2.0b and HDCP 2.2 compliant cables (AWG26 or better, 100% oxygen-free pure copper).
- Cable Length: For 1080p signals, input and output HDMI cable distances can be up to 10 meters using standard AWG24 pure copper HDMI cables. For 4Kx2K signals, input and output HDMI cable distances should be limited to 5 meters using AWG24 18Gbps HDMI cables.
- HDCP Compatibility: Ensure all connected devices (source and displays) are HDCP compliant for proper signal transmission.

- No Picture or Flickering Picture:

- No Audio:

- Ensure your audio receiver or sound system supports the audio format being sent by the source.
- Incorrect Resolution or Color Issues:
- Confirm that your displays support the resolution and refresh rate being output by the source.
- Remember that Dolby Vision content is not downscaled to 1080p.
- Ensure all components (source, splitter, displays) are HDCP compliant.
