1. Introduction

The Sonero AVT115 is a 4K HDMI Audio Extractor designed to separate audio signals from an HDMI source. It supports resolutions up to 4K/UltraHD/2160p at 60Hz. This device allows you to route AV signals from a source device, such as a Blu-ray player, to a monitor or TV, while simultaneously extracting the audio signal for connection to an amplifier or AV receiver via optical S/PDIF (Toslink) or to headphones/other audio devices via a 3.5mm jack. This enables simultaneous use of HD video and high-quality audio.

The extractor supports 5.1 surround sound audio extraction from the source signal, transmitting it to an amplifier or AV receiver with full support for Dolby 5.1 and DTS 5.1 for home theater systems. The additional 3.5mm jack output extracts and converts the audio signal to stereo left/right for headphones or other stereo audio devices.

3. Setup and Connections

Follow these steps to connect your Sonero AVT115 HDMI Audio Extractor:

1. Connect the HDMI Source: Connect your HDMI source device (e.g., Blu-ray player, game console) to the HDMI INPUT port on the audio extractor. The extractor features a 10 cm pigtail HDMI cable for easy connection.

  2. Copy Monitor EDID: While in Backup Mode (LED flashing), ensure the monitor/TV is connected to the extractor's HDMI female port. The extractor will then copy the EDID from the connected monitor/TV.
  3. Recover Factory EDID: While in Backup Mode (LED flashing), keep the extractor's HDMI female port empty for 10 seconds. The EDID in the extractor will then revert to its factory settings.

  • Verify your amplifier/AV receiver is correctly configured to receive 5.1 audio via the optical input.
