2. Safety Information

3.1 Front Panel
- Voltage Display: 3-digit LED display showing the output voltage in Volts (V).

4. Setup
Follow these steps for initial setup:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove the power supply and all accessories from the packaging. Verify that all items listed in the package contents (STP3010 DC Power Supply, Power Cord, Test Leads, Instruction Manual) are present.
- Placement: Place the power supply on a stable, flat surface with adequate ventilation around the unit. Ensure the rear cooling fan is not obstructed.
- Power Connection: Connect the provided power cord to the AC input socket on the rear panel of the power supply and then plug it into a grounded AC 110V±10% power outlet.
- Test Lead Connection: Connect the test leads to the output terminals on the front panel. The red lead connects to the positive (+) terminal, and the black lead connects to the negative (-) terminal. The green terminal is for chassis ground.
- Initial Power On: Before connecting any load, ensure both Voltage and Current adjustment knobs are set to their minimum positions (fully counter-clockwise). Flip the Power Switch to the 'ON' position. The LED displays should illuminate.
5. Operating Instructions
The STP3010 operates in two main modes: Constant Voltage (CV) and Constant Current (CC).
5.1 Adjusting Voltage and Current
- Setting Voltage: With no load connected, turn the Voltage Coarse and Fine knobs clockwise to set the desired output voltage. Observe the Voltage Display. The C.V. indicator light should be illuminated.
- Setting Current Limit: To set the current limit, you can either short the output terminals (briefly and carefully, ensuring the current limit is set low first) or connect a known resistive load. Turn the Current Coarse and Fine knobs clockwise to set the desired maximum current. The C.C. indicator light will illuminate when the current limit is reached. Once the current limit is set, remove the short or load.
- Connecting Load: After setting the desired voltage and current limit, turn off the power supply, connect your device/load to the output terminals, and then turn the power supply back on.
- Operation Modes:
- Constant Voltage (CV) Mode: If the load resistance is high enough that the current drawn is below the set current limit, the power supply will maintain the set output voltage. The C.V. indicator will be lit.
- Constant Current (CC) Mode: If the load resistance is low, causing the current drawn to reach the set current limit, the power supply will automatically switch to Constant Current mode. The output voltage will drop to maintain the set current. The C.C. indicator will be lit.

5.2 Charging Batteries
When using the power supply to charge batteries, follow these steps carefully:
- Set the charging voltage higher than the present battery voltage.
- Ensure the power supply is ON.
- Connect the unit to the battery, ensuring correct polarity (positive to positive, negative to negative).
- Start charging. Monitor the current and voltage displays.
