4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The GAS18V-3N operates with BOSCH 18V Lithium-Ion batteries (sold separately). For optimal performance and runtime, 4Ah or 8Ah CORE18V batteries are recommended.

  1. Ensure the vacuum cleaner is turned off.
  2. Align the battery pack with the battery port on the top of the vacuum.
  3. Slide the battery pack into the port until it clicks securely into place.

4.2 Attaching the Hose and Nozzles

The hose and various nozzles can be assembled to suit your cleaning needs.

  1. Connect one end of the 5.25 ft hose to the suction port on the vacuum cleaner. Ensure it is firmly seated.
  2. Attach the desired nozzle (e.g., floor nozzle, crevice nozzle, bend/elbow nozzle) directly to the other end of the hose.
  3. For extended reach, connect one or more extension tubes between the hose and the nozzle.

The vacuum features on-board storage for the hose and all extension tubes and nozzles, allowing for convenient transport and organization.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On/Off

To turn the vacuum cleaner on, press the power button located on the top of the unit. Press it again to turn the unit off.

5.2 Dry Vacuuming

For dry debris, ensure the HEPA filter is clean and properly installed. Use the appropriate nozzle for the task. The rotational airflow technology helps maintain sustained suction by directing debris away from the filter.

5.3 Wet Vacuuming

The GAS18V-3N is capable of wet vacuuming. The same HEPA filter can be used for both wet and dry applications. When vacuuming liquids, monitor the semi-transparent container to avoid overfilling. Empty the container promptly after wet use.

5.4 Battery Runtime

The vacuum provides sustained performance with long runtime, delivering approximately four minutes per battery amp hour (Ah). For example, an 8Ah battery can provide up to 30 minutes of runtime. Actual runtime may vary based on application and battery condition.

6. Maintenance

6.1 HEPA Filter Cleaning and Replacement

The GAS18V-3N features a washable HEPA filter (VF320H) that captures 99.97% of particles at 0.3 microns and larger. Regular cleaning is essential for maintaining suction performance.

  1. Turn off the vacuum and remove the battery.
  2. Detach the top motor housing from the collection container.
  3. Carefully remove the HEPA filter.
  4. For dry debris, gently tap the filter to dislodge dust or use compressed air. For wet debris or thorough cleaning, rinse the filter under running water.
  5. Allow the filter to air dry completely before reinstallation. Do not use heat to dry.
  6. Reinstall the dry filter, ensuring it is properly seated, then reattach the motor housing.

6.2 Emptying the Container

The semi-transparent container allows for easy monitoring of the fill level. Empty the container when it is full or after wet vacuuming to prevent spills and maintain performance.

  1. Turn off the vacuum and remove the battery.
  2. Unlatch the clips securing the motor housing to the container.
  3. Lift the motor housing off the container.
  4. Dispose of collected debris or liquids responsibly.
  5. Clean the inside of the container if necessary.
  6. Reattach the motor housing and secure the clips.

6.3 General Cleaning

Wipe down the exterior of the vacuum cleaner with a damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure all parts are dry before storage.
