LED Indicators

Setup
Your GEYILO WiFi Extender Repeater supports two main operating modes: Repeater Mode and AP Mode.
Repeater Mode (Extending Existing Wi-Fi)
- Power On: Plug the extender into an electrical outlet near your main router. Wait for the Power LED to light up.
- Connect: On your computer or mobile device, connect to the extender's default Wi-Fi network (e.g., "GEYILO_EXT" or similar, check the device label). No password is required initially.
- Access Setup Page: Open a web browser and enter the default IP address (e.g.,
192.168.10.1) or domain name (e.g.,repeater.net) provided on the device label or quick guide. - Log In: Enter the default username and password (e.g.,
admin/admin). - Select Repeater Mode: Follow the on-screen wizard. Select "Repeater Mode".
- Scan for Networks: The extender will scan for available Wi-Fi networks. Select your main Wi-Fi network (SSID).
- Enter Password: Input the password for your main Wi-Fi network. You can choose to keep the extender's SSID the same as your main network or create a new one (e.g., "YourNetwork_EXT").
- Apply Settings: Click "Apply" or "Save". The extender will restart.
- Relocate: Once restarted, unplug the extender and move it to a location halfway between your router and the Wi-Fi dead zone. Ensure the Signal LED indicates a good connection.
- Connect Devices: Connect your devices to the extender's new Wi-Fi network.
AP Mode (Access Point)
- Power On: Plug the extender into an electrical outlet.
- Connect to Router: Connect the extender's LAN/WAN port to your main router using an Ethernet cable.
- Connect to Extender: On your computer or mobile device, connect to the extender's default Wi-Fi network.
- Access Setup Page: Open a web browser and enter the default IP address or domain name.
- Log In: Enter the default username and password.
- Select AP Mode: Follow the on-screen wizard. Select "AP Mode".
- Configure Wi-Fi: Set a new Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password for the access point.
- Apply Settings: Click "Apply" or "Save". The extender will restart.
- Connect Devices: Your devices can now connect to the new Wi-Fi network created by the extender.
Maintenance
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the manufacturer's website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use liquid cleaners.
- Placement: Ensure the extender is placed in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and obstructions.
- Resetting: If the device malfunctions, you can perform a factory reset by pressing and holding the Reset/WPS button for approximately 10 seconds while the device is powered on.
Troubleshooting
No Internet Access After Setup
- Verify that your main router has internet access.
- Ensure the extender is receiving a strong signal from your main router (check Signal LED).
- Re-enter your main Wi-Fi password during setup, ensuring it is correct.
- Try restarting both your main router and the extender.
Cannot Access Setup Page
- Ensure your device is connected to the extender's Wi-Fi network.
- Double-check the IP address or domain name entered in the browser.
- Clear your browser's cache or try a different browser.
Slow Connection Speed
- Relocate the extender closer to your main router.
- Reduce interference from other electronic devices (e.g., microwaves, cordless phones).
- Ensure your main router is providing adequate speed.
WPS Connection Fails
- Ensure your main router supports WPS.
- Press the WPS button on the extender, then within two minutes, press the WPS button on your main router.
- If WPS fails, try manual setup via the web interface.
