Setup and Preparation
Before performing any test, ensure you have all necessary components ready and understand the instructions. For best results, collect your sample using the provided urine cups.
- Unpack one individually sealed test strip (LH or HCG) from its pouch.
- Prepare a clean, dry urine collection cup.
- Collect a urine sample in the cup. For LH tests, it is recommended to collect samples at the same time each day, avoiding first morning urine for optimal LH detection. For HCG tests, first morning urine is recommended for early detection.

Operating Instructions
Ovulation (LH) Test Instructions
The LH test detects the luteinizing hormone surge, which typically occurs 24-36 hours before ovulation. This indicates your most fertile window.
- Immerse the test strip into the urine sample in the cup for 5 seconds. Do not immerse past the MAX line indicated on the strip.
- Remove the strip and lay it flat on a clean, dry, non-absorbent surface.
- Read the results in 10-15 minutes. Do not interpret results after 15 minutes.

Pregnancy (HCG) Test Instructions
The HCG test detects the presence of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, a hormone produced during pregnancy. This test can detect pregnancy as early as 11 days past ovulation.
- Immerse the test strip into the urine sample in the cup for 5 seconds. Do not immerse past the MAX line indicated on the strip.
- Remove the strip and lay it flat on a clean, dry, non-absorbent surface.
- Read the results in 5 minutes. Do not interpret results after 5 minutes.

Interpreting Results
Both LH and HCG test strips will display a Control Line (C) and a Test Line (T).
- Positive Result: Two lines appear, and the Test Line (T) is as dark as or darker than the Control Line (C). This indicates an LH surge (for ovulation tests) or pregnancy (for HCG tests).
- Negative Result: Only the Control Line (C) appears, or the Test Line (T) is lighter than the Control Line (C). This indicates no LH surge or no pregnancy.
- Invalid Result: No Control Line (C) appears, or the Control Line (C) is very faint. The test is invalid and should be repeated with a new strip.

Time Tracking Chart
Use the provided Time Tracking Chart to log your daily test results. This helps visualize your cycle progression and identify patterns for future planning.

Maintenance and Storage
To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your MomMed test strips:
- Store the test strips in their original sealed pouches at room temperature (36-86°F or 2-30°C).
- Do not store in direct sunlight, moisture, or heat.
- Do not freeze the test strips.
- Use the test strip immediately after opening the sealed pouch.
- Dispose of used test strips and urine cups according to local regulations.

Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your test results, consider the following:
- Invalid Result (No Control Line): This indicates the test did not function correctly. Ensure the strip was immersed for the correct duration and not past the MAX line. Repeat the test with a new strip.
- Faint Lines: For LH tests, a faint test line indicates no LH surge. For HCG tests, a faint test line may indicate very early pregnancy or a low HCG level. Re-test in 48-72 hours with first morning urine for HCG.
- Irregular Cycles: If you have irregular cycles, consistent daily testing with LH strips and using the time tracking chart or a fertility tracking app (like the MomMed App) can help identify your unique ovulation pattern.
