  • Advanced Oscillometry Technology: Utilizes a professional chip and advanced oscillometry for precise and reliable readings.
  • Multiple Measurement Modes: Supports adult, pediatric, and neonatal measurement modes.

4. Setup

Before using the CONTEC08A monitor, ensure it is properly powered and the correct cuff is connected.

4.1 Power Source

The product can be powered by either batteries or an AC adapter.

  • Battery Powered: Choose four "AA" batteries (1.5V rechargeable batteries are recommended). Install them according to the polarity markings in the battery compartment.
  • AC Adapter Powered: Connect the sphygmomanometer to the power adapter. Insert the power adapter plug into the power adapter socket on the right side of the device.

Note:

  • The power adapter does not charge the batteries.
  • When regulated power supply and batteries are used simultaneously, the battery power will not be consumed.
  • If the regulated power supply and battery are used as power supply, the device may shut down due to power failure.
  • When switching between the power adapter and the battery, power off the device first to prevent instrument shutdown due to power failure.

4.2 Cuff Connection

Connect the air tube from the selected cuff securely to the air port on the side of the monitor.

5. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for accurate blood pressure measurement:

  1. Prepare for Measurement: Sit comfortably with your back supported. Keep your upper body upright. Place your arm on a flat surface so the cuff is at heart level. Avoid talking or moving during the measurement.
  2. Apply the Cuff: Select the appropriate cuff size (Adult, Pediatric, Infant, or Neonatal). Wrap the cuff firmly around your bare upper arm, ensuring the center of the cuff bladder is positioned over your brachial artery. The index line on the cuff should fall within the indicated range.
  3. Power On: Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the device.
  4. Select User Type (if necessary): If measuring for a different age group, navigate to the system setup menu. Press the Menu button, use the arrow keys to select "System Setup", press Enter, then select "User Type" and choose between ADU (Adult), NEO (Neonate), or PED (Pediatric). Press Enter to confirm.
  5. Start Measurement: Press the START/STOP button to begin the measurement. The cuff will inflate automatically.
  6. View Results: Once the measurement is complete, your systolic pressure, diastolic pressure, and pulse rate will be displayed on the screen.
