Safety Information

WARNING: Risk of electric shock. Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with all national and local electrical codes.

  • Always turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse box before installation or servicing.
  • Do not install in locations where it may be submerged in water.
  • Ensure all wiring connections are secure and properly insulated.
  • This device is designed to be water-resistant to a half-gallon spill, but it is not waterproof. Avoid excessive liquid exposure.
  • Do not attempt to modify or disassemble the unit.

Setup and Installation

The RCT200W receptacle offers both surface and flush mount options and is designed for permanent installation. It is suitable for use with MC cable or non-metallic sheath cable.

Required Tools and Materials:

  • Hole saw (appropriate size for mounting)
  • Screwdriver
  • Wire strippers
  • Electrical tape
  • Appropriate electrical cable (MC or non-metallic sheath)
  • Silicone sealant (optional, for enhanced water sealing around the cutout)

Installation Steps:

  1. Prepare the Countertop: Carefully cut a hole in the desired countertop location using an appropriate hole saw. Ensure the location allows for sufficient clearance beneath the counter for the receptacle body and wiring.
  2. Wire the Receptacle: Turn off power at the main circuit breaker. Connect the electrical cable to the receptacle terminals: black wire to brass screw (hot), white wire to silver screw (neutral), and bare or green wire to green screw (ground). Ensure connections are tight and secure.
  3. Bottom view of the pop-up receptacle showing wiring connections

  4. Secure the Cable: Use the integrated cable clamp on the underside of the unit to secure the electrical cable, preventing strain on the wire connections.
  5. Bottom view of the pop-up receptacle with electrical conduit connected

  6. Insert and Tighten: Drop the receptacle into the prepared hole. From underneath the countertop, thread and tighten the locking ring until the unit is firmly secured to the countertop surface. If desired, apply a bead of silicone sealant around the cutout before tightening for an extra water seal.
  7. Restore Power: Once installation is complete and all connections are verified, restore power at the circuit breaker.

The RCT200W features a simple push-to-pop-up mechanism for easy access to power.

To Extend the Receptacle:

Gently press down on the top surface of the closed unit. The receptacle will slowly pop up, revealing the two tamper-resistant outlets.

Maintenance

The Bryant Electric RCT200W is designed for minimal maintenance.

  • Cleaning: To clean the surface of the receptacle, use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or internal components.
  • Water Resistance: The unit is water-resistant to a half-gallon spill. In case of a spill, wipe the unit dry immediately. Do not immerse the unit in water.
