1. Introduction

This manual provides essential information for the safe and effective operation of your Singing Machine STVG782BK Groove XL Karaoke System. Please read all instructions carefully before use and retain this manual for future reference.

The Singing Machine Groove XL is a portable karaoke system designed for entertainment, featuring CD+Graphics (CD+G) and MP3+Graphics (MP3+G) playback, Bluetooth audio streaming, and various voice effects. It includes a color TFT LCD display for lyrics and a built-in light show.

3. Product Overview

3.1 Front Panel Controls and Display

• Power Button: Turns the unit on or off.
• Function Button: Selects input source (CD, Bluetooth, AUX).
• Light Button: Controls the LED mood lights.
• REC Button: Initiates recording to a USB device.
• Voice Effect Button: Cycles through various voice effects (Echo, Male, Female, Robot, Chipmunk, Radio).
• A.V.C. (Auto Voice Control) Button: Automatically adjusts the main vocal level on multiplex tracks.

3.2 Rear Panel Connections

• DC IN Jack: Connects to the included power adapter.
• AUX IN Jack: 3.5mm input for connecting external audio devices.
• USB Port: For connecting a USB drive to record performances or play MP3/MP3+G files.
• RCA Output Jacks (Video Out, Audio L/R): Connects to a TV or external audio system for displaying lyrics and outputting sound.

3.3 Microphone Inputs and Device Cradle

• Microphone Jacks (MIC 1, MIC 2): Two 6.3mm jacks for connecting microphones. One microphone is included.
• Device Cradle: A built-in holder on top of the unit to securely place a tablet or smartphone for easy lyric viewing.

4. Setup

4.1 Power Connection

1. Connect the included AC power adapter to the DC IN jack on the rear of the unit.
2. Plug the other end of the adapter into a standard wall outlet.

4.2 Microphone Connection

1. Insert the microphone cable plug into either the MIC 1 or MIC 2 jack on the front panel.
2. If using a second microphone (sold separately), plug it into the remaining MIC jack.

4.3 Initial Power On

1. Press the Power button on the front panel to turn on the unit.
2. The display will illuminate, and the system will be ready for operation.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 CD/MP3+G Playback

1. Open the CD door and carefully place a CD or CD+G disc onto the spindle, label side up. Close the CD door.
2. Press the Function button repeatedly until "CD" or "CD+G" is selected on the display.
3. Press the Play/Pause button to start playback. Lyrics will appear on the built-in display if it's a CD+G disc.
4. Use the Skip buttons to navigate between tracks.

5.2 Bluetooth Audio Streaming

1. Press the Function button repeatedly until "Bluetooth" is selected on the display. The Bluetooth indicator will flash.
2. On your Bluetooth-enabled device (smartphone, tablet), enable Bluetooth and search for "SINGING MACHINE".
3. Select "SINGING MACHINE" to pair. Once paired, the Bluetooth indicator will stop flashing and remain solid.
4. You can now stream audio from your device to the karaoke system. Place your device in the cradle for convenient lyric viewing if using a karaoke app.

5.3 USB Recording

1. Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port on the rear panel.
2. Start playing your music (CD, Bluetooth, or AUX).
3. Press the REC button to begin recording your performance.
4. Press the REC button again to stop recording. The recorded file will be saved to the USB drive.

5.4 Voice Effects

1. While singing into the microphone, press the Voice Effect button to cycle through the available effects: Echo, Male, Female, Robot, Chipmunk, and Radio.
2. Adjust the Echo Control Knob for the desired echo intensity.

5.5 LED Mood Light Show

1. Press the Light button to turn the LED mood lights on or off.
2. The lights will synchronize with the music, creating a dynamic visual effect.

5.6 Connecting to a TV for Lyrics

1. Connect the included RCA Audio/Video cable to the RCA Output Jacks (Video Out, Audio L/R) on the rear of the Groove XL.
2. Connect the other end of the RCA cable to the corresponding Audio/Video Input jacks on your television.
3. Select the correct input source on your TV. Lyrics from CD+G or MP3+G discs will now display on your TV screen.

5.7 AUX IN Connection

1. Connect an external audio device (e.g., MP3 player, smartphone without Bluetooth) to the AUX IN jack using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included).
2. Press the Function button until "AUX" is selected on the display.
3. Play audio from your external device.

6.1 Cleaning the Unit

• Always unplug the unit from the power source before cleaning.
• Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces.
• Do not use abrasive cleaners, waxes, or solvents as they may damage the finish.
