Safety Instructions
- Always disconnect the pump from the power supply before handling, cleaning, or performing any maintenance.
- Ensure the power cord and plug are in good condition. Do not operate the pump with a damaged cord or plug.
- The pump is designed for water use only. Do not use it for flammable liquids or other corrosive substances.
- Ensure the electrical outlet is a grounded GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) outlet for safety.
- Do not lift the pump by its power cord. Use the integrated handle.
- Operate the pump only when fully submerged if used in submersible mode, or ensure proper water flow if used inline.
- Keep children and pets away from the pump and water feature during operation.
Product Features
- Solid Construction & Overload Protection: The shaft and drive ring piece are made from silicon carbide material, reducing attrition and increasing service life. It is totally waterproof (IPX8) and provides overload protection.
- Energy Saving with Low Noise: Ultra-quiet operation design (30-40db). Less power (220W) consumption with high output (4500GPH/17000LPH) compared to other pumps. Suitable for 720 gallon ponds.
- High Lift with Detachable Filter: Lift height can be up to 19FT/5.8M. This pump can accommodate various water features with its portable handle and detachable filter.
- Easy Installation: Adjustable outlet direction and 20.3FT power cord to meet different requirements. Flexible Tube Size: 1 1/4” or 1 1/2” internal diameter. It can be worked with filters (filter system) together.
- Multiple Usage: VIVOSUN Fixed Flow Rate pump can be used as submersible or inline. Multifunctional design for diving or land use. Ideal for a variety of applications in ponds, fish tanks, fountains, waterfalls, etc.

Setup
1. Unpacking
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect the pump and accessories for any signs of damage. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
2. Hose Connection
Attach the appropriate hose adapter to the pump's outlet. The pump supports 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" internal diameter flexible tubes. Trim the nozzle to the perfect size to fit your specific hose. Ensure a secure, leak-free connection.

Figure 3: Hose Adapter Sizes. This image demonstrates how to trim the multi-size hose adapter to fit 1 1/4" or 1 1/2" hoses for optimal connection.
3. Pump Placement
The VIVOSUN pump can be used either fully submerged or as an inline (land) pump. For submersible use, place the pump on a stable, flat surface at the bottom of your pond or tank. For inline use, ensure the pump is placed in a dry, protected area and that water can flow freely into and out of the pump.

Figure 4: Amphibious Pond Pump Setup. This illustration shows the pump operating both as a submersible unit within water and as an inline unit outside the water, demonstrating its versatility.
The pump features four suction cups on its base for secure attachment to smooth surfaces, preventing movement during operation.

Figure 5: Crafted Details. This image highlights the secure suction cups for stable placement, the 20.3 ft power cord for flexible positioning, and the easy-grip handle for portability.
4. Power Connection
Connect the 20.3 ft power cord to a grounded GFCI outlet. Ensure the power cord is routed safely to avoid tripping hazards and is not pinched or damaged.
Operation
1. Initial Startup
Once the pump is properly installed and connected, plug it into the power outlet. The pump will begin to operate immediately. Monitor the water flow to ensure it is functioning as expected.
2. Adjusting Outlet Direction
The pump features an adjustable outlet direction, allowing you to direct the water flow as needed for your specific application (e.g., waterfall, fountain). Gently rotate the outlet nozzle to achieve the desired angle.

Figure 6: Five Adjustable Outlet Directions. This graphic illustrates how the pump's outlet can be rotated to 0°, 45°, 90°, 135°, and 180° for versatile water direction.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your pump.
1. Cleaning the Pump
The pump features a detachable mesh cover and impeller for easy cleaning. Disconnect the pump from power before cleaning. Remove the mesh cover and impeller assembly. Clean any debris, algae, or mineral buildup from the impeller, housing, and mesh cover using a soft brush and clean water. Reassemble all parts securely after cleaning.

Figure 7: Inlet Mesh Cover and Detachable Cover. This image highlights the removable inlet mesh cover, designed to keep large debris out, and the detachable main cover for easy access and cleaning to prevent clogging.
2. Winterization (for outdoor use)
If using the pump outdoors in freezing conditions, remove the pump from the water before temperatures drop below freezing. Clean the pump thoroughly and store it in a dry, frost-free location until spring.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pump does not start | No power; Impeller jammed; Overload protection activated. | Check power connection and GFCI. Disconnect power, clean impeller and housing. Allow pump to cool down if overload protection tripped. |
| Low water flow | Clogged intake/impeller; Kinked hose; Insufficient water level (submersible). | Clean intake screen and impeller. Straighten hose. Ensure adequate water level. |
| Pump is noisy | Debris in impeller; Pump not stable; Air in pump (inline use). | Disconnect power and clean impeller. Secure pump with suction cups. Prime pump if used inline to remove air. |
