Figure 1: SANSI 18W LED Outdoor Floodlight with PIR Motion Sensor. This image displays the complete floodlight unit, featuring two adjustable LED light heads and a motion sensor unit positioned below them, all in a white casing.
The SANSI floodlight features superior performance with 1800 lumens of 5000K natural white light, a wide 180° detection range up to 50 ft, and patented Ceramic Heat Dissipation Technology (CHDT) for extended lifespan. It is IP65 rated for outdoor use and offers significant energy savings compared to traditional incandescent bulbs.
2. Safety Information
Please observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or product damage:
- Electrical Safety: Always turn off the power at the circuit breaker or fuse box before installing, servicing, or cleaning the fixture. Ensure proper grounding to avoid electrical shock.
- Qualified Electrician: Installation should be performed by a qualified electrician or a person with sufficient knowledge of electrical wiring.
- Mounting: Mount the fixture securely to a sturdy surface. Ensure all connections are tight and sealed to prevent water ingress.
- Operating Temperature: Do not operate the fixture outside its specified temperature range.
- Light Source: Do not stare directly into the LED light source when the fixture is illuminated, as this may cause eye damage.
- Modifications: Do not attempt to modify or disassemble the fixture. This will void the warranty and may lead to safety hazards.
- Water Sealing: After closing the back cover of the LED security light, please seal the back cover with glue for better waterproofing, as recommended by the manufacturer.
3. Setup and Installation
This section outlines the general steps for installing your SANSI LED Outdoor Floodlight. Ensure power is OFF before beginning installation.

Figure 2: Installation diagram showing wiring connections. The diagram illustrates how to connect the brown live wire to the L-terminal, the blue neutral wire to the N-terminal, and the yellow-green earthing wire to the # terminal. All necessary installation parts are included.
- Prepare Wiring: Ensure the power supply is disconnected at the main circuit breaker.
- Mounting Bracket: Secure the mounting bracket to the desired wall or surface using appropriate screws and anchors.
- Wire Connections:
- Connect the brown (Live) wire from your power supply to the 'L' terminal on the fixture.
- Connect the blue (Neutral) wire from your power supply to the 'N' terminal on the fixture.
- Connect the yellow-green (Earth) wire from your power supply to the '#' (ground) terminal on the fixture.
- Attach Fixture: Carefully attach the floodlight fixture to the mounting bracket, ensuring all wires are tucked safely inside the junction box.
- Seal Back Cover: After securing the fixture, it is recommended to seal the back cover with a suitable waterproof sealant (e.g., silicone glue) to enhance its IP65 rating and prevent water ingress.
- Adjust Light Heads: The swivel light heads can be adjusted up to 180° horizontally and 90° vertically to enlarge the lighting area as needed.

Figure 3: Illustration of the adjustable swivel light heads. The two light heads can be rotated 180 degrees horizontally, and the entire sensor unit can be adjusted 90 degrees vertically, allowing for broad coverage.
4. Operating Instructions
The SANSI floodlight features an infrared motion sensor with adjustable settings for optimal performance.

Figure 4: Close-up of the infrared motion sensor with adjustable knobs. The image highlights four working modes (Test, Auto, On Time, D2D) and three adjustment knobs for Lux (sensor sensitivity), Time (standby time), and Range (detecting range).
4.1. Working Modes
The motion sensor offers four distinct working modes, selectable via the 'MODE' switch:
- Test Mode: Use this mode to verify the proper functioning of the motion sensor after installation. The light will turn on for a short period (e.g., a few seconds) when motion is detected, regardless of ambient light.
- Auto Mode: In this mode, the light will automatically turn on for 1-10 minutes when the sensor detects motion. It will only activate when the ambient light level is below a certain threshold (e.g., at night).
- On Time Mode: The light works continuously during daytime and nighttime when the on/off switch is activated. The motion sensor will not function in this mode.
- D2D Mode (Dusk to Dawn): The light will turn on automatically at night and remain on until dawn, without relying on motion detection.
4.2. Sensor Adjustments
Three knobs allow for fine-tuning the sensor's behavior:
- LUX (Sensor Sensitivity): This knob adjusts the sensitivity of the sensor to ambient light. Rotate it to set at what ambient light level the sensor will become active (e.g., only at night, or during twilight). Do not set the knob at the MAX position when first using, as this may cause the light to activate during daylight.
- TIME (Standby Time): This knob adjusts how long the light remains on after motion is detected and no further motion is sensed. The duration can typically be set from 1 to 10 minutes.
- RANGE (Detecting Range): This knob adjusts the maximum distance at which the sensor can detect motion. Rotate it to adjust the sensing range up to a maximum of 50 feet (approximately 15 meters).

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your SANSI LED Outdoor Floodlight.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the fixture's lens and sensor window with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish or optical components. Ensure power is off before cleaning.
- Inspection: Regularly inspect the fixture for any signs of damage, loose wiring, or wear. Check the integrity of the waterproof seals.
- Sensor Obstructions: Ensure the motion sensor is free from obstructions (e.g., overgrown plants, debris) that could block its field of view and affect its performance.
- LEDs: The LEDs in this fixture are designed for long life and are not user-replaceable. If the LEDs fail, the entire fixture should be replaced.
