1. Introduction

The Godox Xpro-F is a professional TTL wireless flash trigger designed for Fujifilm cameras. It offers comprehensive control over Godox flashes with the built-in Godox 2.4G wireless X system, supporting TTL auto flash, manual flash, multi-flash, and high-speed sync up to 1/8000s. Its large LCD screen and intuitive button layout ensure convenient operation for various photographic needs.

2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

The Xpro-F trigger requires two AA batteries (not included). To install:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the side of the trigger.
  2. Slide the battery compartment cover open.
  3. Insert two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2.2 Mounting on Camera

To mount the Xpro-F on your Fujifilm camera:

  1. Ensure the trigger is powered off.
  2. Slide the trigger's hot shoe mount into your camera's hot shoe.
  3. Rotate the locking ring on the trigger clockwise until it is securely fastened to the camera.

2.3 Initial Power On

Locate the ON/OFF switch on the side of the trigger and slide it to the 'ON' position. The LCD screen will illuminate, indicating the device is ready for use.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 LCD Display and Buttons

The Xpro-F features a large dot-matrix LCD screen for clear display of settings. It includes 5 group buttons (A/B/C/D/E) and 4 function buttons for convenient operation.

3.2 TTL Auto Flash Functions

The Xpro-F fully supports TTL auto flash, allowing for automatic exposure control. This includes flash exposure compensation (FEC) for fine-tuning flash output.

3.3 High-Speed Sync (HSS)

Achieve shutter speeds up to 1/8000s with compatible flashes, enabling you to freeze fast motion or use wide apertures in bright conditions.

3.4 Multi-Flash and Manual Flash

In addition to TTL, the trigger supports multi-flash (stroboscopic flash) for capturing multiple images of a moving subject in a single frame, and manual flash for precise power control.

3.5 Integrated Godox X System

The built-in Godox 2.4G wireless X system allows the Xpro-F to control various Godox flashes, including camera flashes, outdoor flashes, and studio flashes. It can also function as a Fuji flash trigger or a shutter release trigger.

3.6 Group and Channel Control

The Xpro-F supports 16 groups and 32 channels for precise control over multiple flash units. Additionally, it features 01-99 ID settings, ensuring that flashes are only triggered when the master and slave units share the same channel and ID, effectively preventing signal interference from other systems.

3.7 TCM Function

The TCM (TTL Converted to Manual) function allows you to quickly convert a TTL exposure value into a manual power output, streamlining your workflow.

3.8 Firmware Update

The trigger is equipped with a USB port for firmware updates, ensuring compatibility with future camera models and improved functionality. Visit the official Godox website for the latest firmware and update instructions.

4. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Godox Xpro-F trigger:

  • Keep the device dry. Do not expose it to rain or moisture.
  • Clean the trigger with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Remove batteries if the trigger will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Trigger Not Firing

  • Check Batteries: Ensure batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge.
  • Power On: Verify the trigger is powered on.
  • Hot Shoe Connection: Confirm the trigger is securely mounted on the camera's hot shoe.
  • Flash Connection: Ensure the receiving flash unit is powered on and properly connected to its receiver (if applicable) or has its own built-in Godox X system.

5.2 Interference Issues

  • Change Channel: Try switching to a different wireless channel on both the trigger and the flash unit.
  • Set ID: Utilize the 01-99 ID setting. Ensure the ID on the master trigger and slave flash units are identical to prevent interference from other nearby wireless systems.
  • Distance: Ensure the trigger and flash are within the effective operating range.
