1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the WOCKODER KD-2008 Turntable. This user manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of your new record player. Please read this manual thoroughly before use and retain it for future reference.

The KD-2008 is designed to bring the classic sound of vinyl records to your home, combined with modern connectivity options. It features a belt-driven system for stable playback, built-in stereo speakers for immediate listening, and Bluetooth functionality for wireless audio streaming from your smart devices.

2. Safety Information

  • Do not expose the unit to rain, moisture, or direct sunlight.
  • Avoid placing the unit near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  • Use only attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  • Unplug this unit during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
  • Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way.

3. Product Components

  • Platter: Where the vinyl record rests.
  • Tone Arm: Holds the stylus and tracks the record grooves.
  • Stylus (Needle): The part that reads the grooves of the record.
  • Dust Cover: Protects the turntable from dust when not in use.
  • Speed Switch: Selects playback speed (33, 45, 78 RPM).
  • Auto Stop Switch: Enables or disables automatic stopping of the platter at the end of a record.
  • Power/Volume Knob: Turns the unit on/off and adjusts volume.
  • Headphone Jack: For private listening.
  • AUX In Jack: Connect external audio devices.
  • RCA Output Jacks: Connect to external powered speakers or an amplifier.

4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the turntable from its packaging. Retain the packaging materials for future transport or storage. Ensure all components are present and undamaged.

4.2 Placement

Place the turntable on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive dust or vibrations. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.

4.3 Power Connection

Connect the provided power adapter to the DC IN port on the back of the turntable and then plug the adapter into a wall outlet.

4.4 Dust Cover Installation

Align the hinges of the dust cover with the slots on the back of the turntable and gently push down until it clicks into place. The dust cover can be removed completely if desired.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Playing a Vinyl Record

  1. Turn the Power/Volume knob clockwise to turn on the unit. The LED indicator will light up.
  2. Lift the dust cover.
  3. Place a vinyl record on the platter.
  4. Select the appropriate speed (33 1/3, 45, or 78 RPM) using the LP Speed Switch, matching the record's speed. For 45 RPM records, place the 45 RPM adapter on the center spindle.

  6. Push the Tone Arm Raise Lever up to lift the tone arm.
  7. Gently move the tone arm over the desired starting point of the record.
  8. Push the Tone Arm Raise Lever down to slowly lower the tone arm onto the record. The record will begin playing.
  9. Adjust the volume using the Power/Volume knob.
  10. At the end of the record, if the Auto Stop Switch is ON, the platter will stop spinning automatically. If it's OFF, the platter will continue to spin. Manually lift the tone arm and return it to the tone arm clip.

5.2 Bluetooth Connectivity

The turntable can receive audio wirelessly from your Bluetooth-enabled devices.

  1. Turn on the turntable. If no record is playing, the unit will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode. You may hear a voice prompt indicating it's ready to pair.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your smartphone, tablet, or other audio device.
  3. Search for "WOCKODER" or a similar device name in your device's Bluetooth settings and select it to pair.
  4. Once paired, you can stream music from your device through the turntable's built-in speakers.

5.3 AUX Input

Connect external audio devices (e.g., MP3 players, CD players) to the turntable using a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) plugged into the AUX IN jack on the back of the unit. The audio from the connected device will play through the turntable's speakers.

5.4 RCA Output

For enhanced sound, you can connect the turntable to external powered speakers or an amplifier using RCA cables (not included). Connect the RCA output jacks (red for right, white for left) on the back of the turntable to the corresponding input jacks on your external audio system.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning the Turntable

  • Wipe the turntable cabinet with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Clean the dust cover with a soft cloth. If the dust cover is heavily soiled, use a soft cloth dampened with a mild detergent solution.

6.2 Stylus Care

  • The stylus is delicate. Handle it with extreme care.
  • Clean the stylus periodically using a soft brush, brushing gently from back to front.
  • A worn stylus will produce distorted sound and can damage records. Replace the stylus after approximately 300-500 hours of use. A spare diamond-tipped stylus is included with your unit.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No power Power adapter not connected; Power outlet not working. Ensure power adapter is securely connected and plugged into a working outlet.
No sound or low volume Volume too low; Stylus not properly seated; External speakers not connected/powered. Increase volume; Check stylus installation; Ensure external speakers are connected and powered on.
Record skipping Record is dirty or scratched; Turntable not level; Stylus worn or damaged. Clean record; Place turntable on a level surface; Replace stylus.
Bluetooth not connecting Bluetooth on device is off; Device too far; Turntable not in pairing mode. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device; Move device closer; Restart turntable to enter pairing mode.
