Front Panel

Setup

1. Powering the Unit

The SML650BK can be powered by the included AC adapter or by batteries.

  • AC Power: Connect the AC adapter to the DC IN jack on the unit and then plug it into a standard wall outlet.
  • Battery Power: Open the battery compartment on the bottom of the unit and insert 6 'C' size batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity. Close the compartment securely.

2. Connecting the Microphone

Plug the included microphone into either the MIC 1 or MIC 2 jack on the unit. For duets, a second microphone (sold separately) can be connected to the other jack.

3. Connecting to a TV (Optional)

To display CDG lyrics on your television, use the included RCA cable:

  1. Connect the yellow plug of the RCA cable to the VIDEO OUT jack on the karaoke system and the yellow video input jack on your TV.
  2. Connect the red and white plugs of the RCA cable to the AUDIO OUT (R/L) jacks on the karaoke system and the corresponding red and white audio input jacks on your TV.
  3. Select the correct video input source on your TV (e.g., AV1, Video, Input).

4. Connecting External Audio Devices (Line-In)

To play music from a smartphone, tablet, or MP3 player via a wired connection:

  1. Connect one end of a 3.5mm audio cable (not included) to the LINE IN jack on the karaoke system.
  2. Connect the other end of the audio cable to the headphone jack or audio output of your external device.
  3. Place your device in the secure resting cradle on the karaoke system.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

Press the Power Button to turn the unit on. The LED lights will illuminate. Press the button again to turn the unit off.

2. Bluetooth Audio Streaming

Stream music wirelessly from compatible devices:

  1. Turn on the karaoke system. The unit will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your external device (smartphone, tablet).
  3. Search for and select "SML650BK" from the list of available devices.
  4. Once paired, you can play music from your device, and the audio will stream through the karaoke system.
  5. Adjust the volume using the Master Volume control on the unit and/or your external device.

3. Using the Microphone and Voice Effects

  • Ensure the microphone is connected and the unit is powered on.
  • Adjust the Microphone Volume Control to your desired level.
  • Rotate the Voice Changer Dial to select from six voice-changing effects: Echo, Male, Female, Robot, Chipmunk, and Radio.
  • Sing into the microphone while music is playing.

4. LED Light Operation

Press the LED Light Mode Button to cycle through various multi-colored light patterns that synchronize with your music. Press the button repeatedly to change modes or turn the lights off.

5. CDG Playback (via TV Connection)

While the SML650BK does not have a built-in CD player, it supports displaying CDG lyrics from an external CDG player connected via the LINE IN or Bluetooth, and then outputting the video to a TV using the RCA cable. Ensure your external device is playing a CDG track and your TV is set to the correct input source.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Batteries: Remove batteries if the unit will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.

Troubleshooting
