3. Assembly

Follow these steps to assemble your Greenworks Pro 80V String Trimmer.

1. Connect the Shaft: The trimmer features a split shaft design. Align the two sections of the shaft and securely connect them according to the instructions in the included Operator's Manual. Ensure the locking mechanism engages fully.
2. Attach the Guard: Secure the debris guard to the trimmer head using the provided hardware. This guard protects against flying debris during operation.
3. Install the Auxiliary Handle: Position the auxiliary handle on the shaft for comfortable operation and tighten it securely. Adjust its position to suit your height and working posture.
4. Attach the Shoulder Harness: Connect the shoulder harness to the designated attachment point on the trimmer shaft. Adjust the harness for proper balance and weight distribution to reduce fatigue.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Charging and Installation

1. Charge the Battery: Insert the 80V battery into the rapid charger. The 2.0 Ah battery typically charges in 30 minutes. Refer to the charger's indicator lights for charging status.

2. Install the Battery: Once charged, slide the battery into the battery compartment on the trimmer's power head until it clicks securely into place.

4.2 Line Loading

The trimmer features a bump feed head for easy line advancement. For reloading, follow the instructions in your Operator's Manual or refer to the video below.

5. Operating Instructions

1. Starting the Trimmer: Press the safety button located on the handle, then squeeze the variable speed trigger to start the trimmer. The variable speed trigger allows you to control the cutting speed.

2. Trimming Technique: Hold the trimmer firmly with both hands. Use a sweeping motion to cut grass and weeds. For optimal results, cut with the tip of the line.

3. Advancing the Line: To advance the cutting line, lightly tap the bump feed head on the ground while the trimmer is running. The line will automatically extend.

4. Using Attachments: The trimmer is attachment capable. To change attachments, ensure the battery is removed, then follow the specific instructions for detaching the string trimmer head and attaching compatible Greenworks or universal attachments.
