1. Product Overview

2. Compatibility

3. Components Included

4. Setup & Installation

Installing Filter Cartridges:

1. Unplug the power filter from the electrical outlet.
2. Open the filter cover.
3. Remove the old filter cartridge. Discard it responsibly.
4. Rinse the new Rite-Size C filter cartridge under cool tap water to remove any carbon dust.
5. Insert the new cartridge into the filter chamber, ensuring it sits securely.
6. Close the filter cover and plug the power filter back into the electrical outlet.

Installing Bio-Wheel Assembly:

1. Unplug the power filter from the electrical outlet.
2. If replacing an old Bio-Wheel, gently remove it from its brackets.
3. Insert the new Bio-Wheel assembly into the designated brackets within the filter housing. Ensure the bearings are snug for smooth rotation.
4. Close the filter cover and plug the power filter back into the electrical outlet. Verify that the Bio-Wheel spins freely once water flow is established.

5. Operating Instructions

Once installed, the Marineland Penguin Power Filter with its new cartridges and Bio-Wheel assembly will operate continuously to filter your aquarium water. Ensure the water level in your aquarium is sufficient for the filter intake to be fully submerged and for the Bio-Wheel to rotate freely. The filter should run 24/7 for optimal water quality.

6. Maintenance

Filter Cartridge Replacement:

Replace Marineland Rite-Size C filter cartridges approximately every 2-4 weeks, or sooner if water flow is significantly reduced or the cartridge appears heavily clogged. Regular replacement ensures effective mechanical and chemical filtration.

Bio-Wheel Maintenance:

The Bio-Wheel should only be replaced if it is physically breaking apart. To clean the Bio-Wheel, gently rinse it in a bucket of old aquarium water (removed during a water change) to preserve the beneficial bacteria. Avoid rinsing it under tap water, as chlorine can kill these bacteria.

General Aquarium Care:

For a healthy aquarium environment, perform regular water changes. A good practice is the '30-30-30' rule: take 30 minutes every 30 days to replace 30% of your aquarium water. This helps maintain water quality and reduces the buildup of harmful substances.

• Reduced Water Flow: Check if the filter cartridge is clogged and needs replacement. Ensure the intake tube is clear of debris.
