1. Introduction

2. Components and Features

3. Setup

3.1 Winding the Watch

Before setting the time, ensure the watch has sufficient power reserve. If the watch has stopped, gently wind the crown clockwise approximately 20-30 times in position 1 (fully pushed in and screwed down) to initiate movement. The automatic movement will then continue to wind with wrist motion during wear.

3.2 Setting the Time

1. Unscrew the crown by turning it counter-clockwise until it springs out to position 1.
2. Pull the crown out to position 3. This will stop the second hand.
3. Rotate the crown to set the hour and minute hands. Ensure the date changes at midnight, not noon, by advancing the hands past 12 o'clock to determine AM/PM.
4. Once the time is set, push the crown back to position 1 and screw it down clockwise firmly against the case to ensure water resistance.

3.3 Setting the Date

1. Unscrew the crown by turning it counter-clockwise until it springs out to position 1.
2. Pull the crown out to position 2.
3. Rotate the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise to adjust the date. Avoid setting the date between 9 PM and 3 AM, as this can interfere with the date change mechanism.
4. Once the date is set, push the crown back to position 1 and screw it down clockwise firmly against the case to ensure water resistance.

4. Operating the Watch

4.1 Using the Uni-directional Rotating Bezel

The watch features a uni-directional rotating bezel, designed for timing events, particularly dive times. To use:

1. Rotate the bezel counter-clockwise to align the zero marker (triangle) with the minute hand at the start of the event you wish to time.
2. The elapsed time can then be read against the bezel markings as the minute hand progresses.
3. The uni-directional design ensures that if the bezel is accidentally moved, it will only indicate a longer elapsed time, preventing a false reading for critical timing.

4.2 Water Resistance

Your Oris Aquis watch is water-resistant up to 300 meters (1000 feet). This makes it suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports, but not for saturation diving. To maintain water resistance:

• Always ensure the crown is fully screwed down before exposing the watch to water.
• Do not operate the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged.
• Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperature changes, which can affect the seals.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

Regularly clean your watch with a soft, damp cloth. For the stainless steel bracelet and case, a mild soap solution can be used, followed by rinsing with fresh water and thorough drying. Ensure the crown is screwed down before cleaning with water. Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials.

5.2 Storage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and strong magnetic fields. If storing for an extended period, consider a watch winder to keep the automatic movement running and lubricated.

5.3 Servicing

6. Troubleshooting

• Watch Stops Running: If the watch stops, it may need manual winding. Wind the crown approximately 20-30 times in position 1. If the issue persists after regular wear, the watch may require servicing.
• Date Not Changing: Ensure the time is set correctly for AM/PM. If the date still does not change or changes at noon, re-adjust the time and date. If the issue persists, avoid manually forcing it and consult an authorized service center.
