4.1. Components and Controls

5. Setup

5.1. Battery Installation

The W1 TTL T-S trigger requires two AA batteries. To install:

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the trigger.
  2. Slide the cover open.
  3. Insert two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2. Mounting on Camera

Attach the W1 TTL T-S trigger to your Sony camera's hot shoe:

  1. Slide the trigger's hot shoe foot into your camera's hot shoe slot.
  2. Tighten the locking wheel on the trigger's hot shoe foot to secure it firmly to the camera.

5.3. Initial Power On

After mounting, turn on the trigger using the power switch located on its side. The LCD display will illuminate.

6. Operating Instructions

The Walimex pro W1 TTL T-S wireless trigger provides reliable control for compatible flash units, such as the Walimex pro Studio Flash2Go TTL battery flash or Light Shooter 360 TTL, via a 2.4 GHz radio system. It is compatible with Sony cameras featuring TTL functionality.

6.1. Power On/Off

Use the 'ON/OFF' switch on the side of the trigger to power it on or off.

6.2. Channel and Group Selection

The trigger supports 32 channels and up to 5 flash groups. To set:

  • Press the CH/OK button to enter channel selection mode. Use the adjustment dial to select the desired channel (1-32). Press CH/OK again to confirm.
  • Press the GR button to cycle through and select flash groups (A, B, C, D, E).
  • Ensure that your flash units are set to the same channel and group as the trigger for proper communication.

6.3. Flash Modes

Press the MODE button to cycle through the available flash modes:

  • TTL (Through-The-Lens) Mode: The camera, with the W1 trigger, automatically controls the flash exposure. This mode supports flash exposure compensation and flash exposure bracketing.
  • Manual (M) Mode: Allows you to manually set the flash power output. Use the adjustment dial to change the power level.
  • Multi-Flash (Stroboscopic) Mode: Fires a series of rapid flashes during a single exposure.

6.4. High-Speed Sync (HSS)

The W1 TTL T-S supports High-Speed Sync (HSS) up to 1/8000s, allowing you to use flash with faster shutter speeds, which is useful for overpowering ambient light or using wider apertures in bright conditions.

6.5. First and Second Curtain Sync

The trigger supports both first and second curtain sync, providing creative control over motion blur effects in your photographs.

6.6. Flash Exposure Compensation (FEC)
