1. Introduction

The Teletek LED 32 Keypad is an essential component of the ECLIPSE 32 alarm system, designed to provide clear visual indication of zones, troubles, alarm messages, and arming status. This keypad facilitates programming and management for systems supporting up to 8 independent areas and up to 32 zones. This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper installation, operation, and maintenance of your LED 32 Keypad.

2. Safety Information

  • Always disconnect power to the control panel before installing or servicing the keypad.
  • Ensure all wiring is performed by qualified personnel and complies with local electrical codes.
  • Do not expose the keypad to moisture, extreme temperatures, or direct sunlight.
  • Avoid placing the keypad near strong electromagnetic fields.

4. Setup and Installation

Before beginning installation, ensure the control panel is powered off.

  1. Mounting Location: Choose a suitable indoor location, away from direct sunlight, moisture, and extreme temperatures. The keypad should be easily accessible for daily use.
  2. Mounting: Secure the keypad to the wall using appropriate screws. Ensure the tamper switch is properly engaged once mounted.
  3. Wiring: Connect the keypad to the ECLIPSE 32 control panel using the designated terminals. Refer to the control panel's manual for specific wiring diagrams. The keypad receives power and data communication from the control panel.
  4. Power On: Once all connections are secure, restore power to the control panel. The keypad should power on and display its initial status.
  5. Initial Configuration: Follow the ECLIPSE 32 control panel's programming guide to integrate the LED 32 keypad into the system, assign its address, and configure any specific settings.

5. Operating Instructions

The LED 32 Keypad provides various functions for managing your alarm system.

5.1. Status Indication

  • Zone LEDs (1-32): Indicate the status of individual zones (e.g., open, closed, alarm).
  • Area LEDs (A1-A8): Show the arming status of each independent area.
  • Trouble LED: Illuminates when a system trouble condition is present (e.g., low battery, communication fault).
  • Alarm LED: Flashes or illuminates during an alarm event.

5.2. Arming and Disarming

Use the quick arming buttons or enter your user code followed by the desired arming mode button (e.g., Stay, Away, Night).

5.3. Quick Buttons

  • Memory: Press to view the alarm memory, showing zones that triggered previous alarms.
  • Troubles: Press to display current system trouble conditions.
  • Bypassed Zones: Press to view zones that are currently bypassed.

5.4. Emergency Buttons

The keypad features three programmable emergency button combinations (e.g., pressing two specific keys simultaneously) to send PANIC, MEDICAL, or FIRE alarm messages to a central monitoring station.

5.5. Backlight and Buzzer Adjustment

Refer to the control panel's programming manual for instructions on adjusting the display and button backlight intensity, as well as the keypad's buzzer volume.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the keypad surface with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or excessive moisture.
  • Inspection: Periodically check the keypad for any signs of damage or loose connections.
  • Environmental: Ensure the operating environment remains within the specified temperature and humidity ranges to prevent damage.
