4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Basic Flight
Before initiating flight, ensure the drone is placed on a flat, open surface, clear of obstacles. Power on both the drone and the remote control. Wait for the remote control to display "Ready to Go," indicating a successful connection and GPS lock. Use the joysticks on the remote control to control the drone's ascent, descent, forward, backward, and lateral movements. Always maintain visual line of sight with the drone and be aware of your surroundings. For landing, carefully guide the drone to a clear area and use the designated landing controls on the remote.
4.2. Intelligent Flight Modes (Dynamic Track)
The Autel Robotics EVO offers intelligent flight modes, including Dynamic Track. This feature allows the drone to automatically follow a selected subject. To activate, navigate through the remote control's menu to select Dynamic Track. Once activated, the drone will identify and track a designated target, such as a person on a bicycle, maintaining a set distance and altitude. It is crucial to ensure a clear flight path and continuously monitor the drone's environment for any potential obstacles when utilizing intelligent flight modes.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Autel Robotics EVO drone. Key maintenance tasks include:
- Propeller Inspection: Regularly check propellers for any signs of damage (cracks, bends, chips). Replace damaged propellers immediately to prevent flight instability.
- Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Avoid overcharging or fully discharging the battery to prolong its lifespan. Follow manufacturer guidelines for charging and storage.
- Gimbal and Camera Cleaning: Gently clean the camera lens and gimbal with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear image quality and smooth gimbal operation. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check for and install firmware updates for both the drone and remote control. Updates often include performance enhancements, bug fixes, and new features.
- General Cleaning: Keep the drone body free of dust and debris. Use a soft brush or compressed air for hard-to-reach areas.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your Autel Robotics EVO drone and provides potential solutions.
6.1. Drone Not Powering On
- Ensure the battery is fully charged and correctly inserted into the drone's compartment.
- Press the power button on the battery to check its charge level; all indicator lights should be solid green when fully charged.
- If the drone still does not power on, try using a different fully charged battery if available.
6.2. Remote Control Not Connecting
- Verify both the drone and remote control are powered on.
- Ensure the remote control battery is sufficiently charged.
- If the connection is lost or not established, refer to the full user manual for detailed pairing instructions. Ensure no strong interference sources are nearby.
6.3. Poor Image/Video Quality
- Check if the camera lens is clean and free from smudges, dust, or condensation.
- Ensure the gimbal is not obstructed and can move freely. Calibrate the gimbal if necessary.
- Verify that the correct video resolution and frame rate settings are selected in the drone's camera settings via the remote control.
- Avoid flying in low light conditions or extreme weather, which can degrade image quality.
