Setup and Assembly Instructions
The King's Rack boltless shelving unit is designed for straightforward assembly. No bolts, screws, or nuts are required. A rubber mallet (not always included, but recommended) may assist in securing components.
Assembly Steps:
- Prepare the Area: Clear a spacious, flat area for assembly. Ensure all parts are accessible.
- Assemble the Posts: Connect two post sections using a post coupler. Repeat for all four vertical posts. Ensure the coupler is fully seated.
- Attach Beams to Posts (Lower Section): Begin by attaching two long beams and two short beams to the lower section of two assembled posts to form a rectangular frame. The boltless design uses interlocking tabs and slots. You may need to gently tap the beams into place with a rubber mallet to ensure a secure fit.
- Add First Particle Board: Once the lower frame is secure, place a particle board onto the beams.
- Continue Building Upwards: Attach the remaining posts and beams, working upwards. The tier height is adjustable; you can set the height of each shelf as desired by selecting different slots on the posts. Ensure each beam is level and securely seated before adding the next level.
- Install Remaining Particle Boards: Place the remaining particle boards onto their respective beam frames.
- Install Plastic Caps: Place the plastic caps on the top of each post for a finished look and to protect the floor.
- Final Check: Ensure all beams are securely locked into the post slots and the unit is stable.

Alternative Horizontal Setup:
This unit can also be assembled into two shorter, horizontal shelving units. This configuration results in two units, each approximately 84" Wide x 16" Deep x 36" High.
- Follow steps 1-3 for the first two tiers of the rack.
- Instead of continuing vertically, use the remaining posts and beams to build a second, separate unit.
- Ensure each horizontal unit is stable and level.

Operating and Usage
The King's Rack shelving unit is designed for versatile storage. Its adjustable shelves allow for customization to accommodate items of various sizes.
- Adjustable Shelf Height: The height of each tier can be adjusted vertically to any desired position between the floor and the top tier. To adjust, carefully lift the particle board, then disengage the beams from the posts, reposition them to the desired slots, and re-secure.
- Weight Distribution: Always distribute weight evenly across the shelves. Avoid concentrating heavy items in one area.
- Suitable Environments: This rack is suitable for use in garages, kitchens, offices, workshops, warehouses, and other storage areas.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and appearance of your King's Rack, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Wipe the steel frame and particle board shelves with a dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that may damage the finish.
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check all connections to ensure beams are securely seated in the posts. Tighten any loose connections if necessary.
- Avoid Moisture: While the steel has a powder coating, prolonged exposure to moisture can lead to rust. Store the unit in a dry environment.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Difficulty fitting beams into posts. | Paint coating on rivets/slots, or misalignment. | Apply firm, even pressure. Use a rubber mallet to gently tap components into place. Ensure proper alignment before tapping. |
| Rack feels unstable after assembly. | Beams not fully seated, or uneven floor. | Verify all beams are securely locked into post slots. Ensure the unit is on a level surface. Consider securing the unit to a wall for added stability. |
| Shelf particle board does not sit flat. | Beams are not level or fully engaged. | Check that all four supporting beams for the shelf are at the same height and fully seated in their respective post slots. |
