5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Casio G-Shock GW-7900-1CR, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Wipe the watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a mild soap solution and rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Ensure the watch is completely dry before storing.
  • Water Resistance: After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water. Do not operate buttons while the watch is submerged or wet.
  • Tough Solar Charging: Expose the watch to light regularly to keep it charged. Avoid prolonged storage in dark places. The battery level indicator will help you monitor the charge.
  • Temperature Exposure: Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures, both hot and cold, for extended periods.
  • Chemicals: Keep the watch away from gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, adhesives, paints, etc., as they may damage the resin case and band.

6. Troubleshooting

Here are some common issues and their solutions for your GW-7900-1CR watch:

  • Time Signal Reception Issues: If the watch is not receiving the atomic time calibration signal, ensure it is placed in a location with good signal reception, away from electronic devices that may cause interference. Try manual reception.
  • Low Battery Indicator: If the battery level indicator shows 'LOW' or 'CHARGE', expose the watch to bright light (sunlight is ideal) for an extended period to recharge the Tough Solar battery.
  • Incorrect Moon/Tide Data: Ensure your home city and specific location settings are correctly configured for the Moon Data and Tide Graph functions. Refer to section 2.2 for setup instructions.
  • Display Blank or Dim: This could indicate a very low battery. Place the watch in bright light for several hours. If the issue persists, contact Casio customer support.
  • Buttons Not Responding: Ensure the watch is not in a mode that locks buttons (e.g., a setting mode where only specific buttons are active). If the watch is wet, dry it thoroughly before operating buttons.
