Setup: Nail Preparation
Proper nail preparation is essential for long-lasting results.
- Clean Nails: Ensure nails are clean, dry, and free of any old polish or oils.
- File and Shape: Gently file and shape your nails to your desired length and shape.
- Push Back Cuticles: Gently push back cuticles using a cuticle pusher.
- Buff Nail Surface: Lightly buff the surface of your nails to remove shine and create a porous surface for better adhesion. Remove any dust with a clean brush.
Operating: Application Instructions
Follow these steps carefully for best results:
- Step 1: Apply Prep Liquid
Apply a thin, even coat of Nugenesis Prep Liquid (Step 1) to all nails. Allow it to air dry completely. This step dehydrates the nail plate and prepares it for adhesion.
- Step 2: Apply Base Gel & Dip Powder (First Coat)
Apply a thin, even coat of Nugenesis Base Gel (Step 2) to one nail at a time. Immediately dip the entire nail into the Nugenesis Dip Powder (NU 26 Baby's Breath). Tap off any excess powder. Repeat for all nails.
- Step 3: Apply Base Gel & Dip Powder (Second Coat)
Apply a second thin, even coat of Nugenesis Base Gel (Step 2) to each nail. Immediately dip the entire nail into the Nugenesis Dip Powder again. Tap off any excess powder. This second coat builds strength and color opacity. Allow nails to dry for 30 seconds.
- Step 4: Apply Activator Liquid
Apply a generous coat of Nugenesis Activator Liquid (Step 3) to all nails. This liquid hardens the powder. Allow nails to dry for 2 minutes. The nails should feel hard to the touch.
- Step 5: File and Buff
Once the activator has dried, gently file and buff the surface of your nails to achieve a smooth, even finish. Remove any dust with a clean, dry brush.
- Step 6: Apply Second Coat of Activator Liquid
Apply another thin coat of Nugenesis Activator Liquid (Step 3) to all nails. Allow to dry for 1 minute.
- Step 7: Apply Finish Gel
Apply a thin, even coat of Nugenesis Finish Gel (Step 4) to all nails. This provides a glossy topcoat. Allow to air dry for 2-3 minutes until completely dry and shiny. For best results and to prevent the brush from hardening, it is recommended to return the brush to the bottle immediately after applying to each nail.
Maintenance
- Product Storage: Keep all liquids and powder tightly sealed when not in use. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Brush Care: If brushes become stiff or hardened, clean them with a brush saver solution (not included in this kit) or a small amount of acetone. Ensure brushes are completely dry before returning them to their respective bottles.
- Nail Care: To prolong the life of your dip powder manicure, avoid prolonged exposure to water and harsh chemicals. Use gloves when performing household chores.
Troubleshooting
| Issue | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Finish Gel brush hardens | Exposure to Activator Liquid or air for too long. | Return the brush to the bottle immediately after applying to each nail. If hardened, clean with brush saver or acetone. |
| Powder not adhering evenly | Base Gel applied too thick or too thin; insufficient nail preparation. | Ensure Base Gel is applied in thin, even coats. Thoroughly buff and clean nails before application. |
| Nails feel rough or bumpy | Insufficient filing/buffing after Activator Liquid. | Ensure thorough filing and buffing after the first Activator Liquid application to create a smooth surface before applying Finish Gel. |
| Chipping or lifting | Improper nail preparation; product applied too close to cuticles; insufficient capping of free edge. | Ensure nails are properly prepped. Leave a small margin around cuticles. Cap the free edge of the nail with each liquid and powder application. |
