Spectra Precision LT52G Multi-Purpose Laser Tool

Instruction Manual

Introduction

The Spectra Precision LT52G Laser Tool is an automatic self-leveling multi-purpose tool designed for a wide variety of construction applications. Its ultra-bright green laser beams are ideal for use in bright ambient light conditions. This versatile tool combines the functionality of a 5-beam pointer and a crossline laser into one compact unit, eliminating the need for multiple tools.

For interior building and remodeling, the LT52G is used for horizontal and vertical alignment, wall layout, point transfer up and down, tile installation, finish carpentry, and 90-degree squaring. The green beam lasers provide industry-leading brightness. The rugged design, featuring overmolding, can withstand drops up to 3 feet. A transportation lock is included to protect the compensator during transport.

The package includes the laser tool, a magnetic wall bracket, laser target and glasses, a charger, and a hard-shelled carrying case.

Key Features

  • Eliminates the need for contractors to purchase two tools by combining a 5-beam pointer and a crossline laser into one product. Automatic self-leveling assures accuracy and fast setup.
  • Green beam crosslines are best for use in bright ambient light conditions and points are visible up to 200 ft (60 m).
  • Durable housing is designed to protect the unit and endure the rigors of any construction site; comes with a hard-shell case for convenient transport and storage.
  • Use for all interior building and remodeling horizontal and vertical alignments - wall layout, point transfer up and down, tiles, finish carpentry, and 90 degree squaring.
  • Includes powerful Lithium-Ion rechargeable batteries providing all day operation and eliminates need for alkaline batteries.

Charging the Battery

The LT52G is powered by a Lithium-Ion rechargeable battery. Before first use, fully charge the battery using the provided charger.

  1. Connect the charger to the laser tool's charging port.
  2. Plug the charger into a standard electrical outlet.
  3. Allow the battery to charge until the charging indicator light shows a full charge.

Note: The unit includes powerful Lithium-Ion rechargeable batteries providing all day operation and eliminates need for alkaline batteries.

Mounting the Tool

The LT52G can be placed on a stable surface or mounted using the magnetic wall bracket or a tripod (not included).

  • Magnetic Wall Bracket: Attach the magnetic bracket to a metallic surface or secure it with screws to a non-metallic surface. The laser tool can then be magnetically attached to the bracket.
  • Tripod Mounting: The tool features a standard tripod thread for secure mounting on a compatible tripod.

Operating Instructions

Powering On and Self-Leveling

To power on the device, press the power button. The LT52G will automatically self-level.

Note: Automatic self-leveling assures accuracy and fast setup. If the laser lines are flashing, it indicates the tool is outside its self-leveling range. Adjust the tool's position until the lines become steady.

Selecting Operating Modes

The LT52G offers multiple operating modes:

  • Horizontal Line Mode: Projects a horizontal laser line for level alignment.
  • Vertical Line Mode: Projects a vertical laser line for plumb alignment.
  • Cross-Line Mode: Projects both horizontal and vertical laser lines simultaneously for 90-degree squaring.
  • 5-Beam Pointer Mode: Projects five independent laser points (up, down, front, left, right) for point transfer and layout.

Refer to the control panel buttons for switching between these modes.

Using the Laser Target and Glasses

The included laser target can be used to enhance visibility of the laser lines, especially over longer distances or in bright conditions. The laser glasses improve the visibility of the green laser beam to the human eye.

Manual Mode (Slope Function)

For applications requiring a sloped line, the LT52G can be switched to manual mode. In this mode, the self-leveling feature is disengaged, allowing the user to tilt the tool to the desired angle.

Caution: Ensure the tool is in manual mode when intentionally creating a slope, otherwise, flashing lines indicate an out-of-level condition.

Transportation Lock

Always engage the transportation lock when moving or storing the laser tool to protect the internal compensator mechanism from damage.

Maintenance

  • Keep the laser tool clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Store the tool in its hard-shelled carrying case when not in use to protect it from impacts and environmental factors.
  • Regularly check the battery for signs of wear or damage.
  • Avoid exposing the laser tool to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight for prolonged periods.
