4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Car Seat Installation (with ISOFIX Base - if applicable)

1. Position the ISOFIX base (if included or purchased separately) on the vehicle seat.
2. Extend the ISOFIX connectors and push them onto the vehicle's ISOFIX anchorage points until they click securely. Green indicators should appear.
3. Adjust the load leg to the vehicle floor, ensuring it is firmly planted and the indicator shows green.
4. Place the i-GEMM SIGNATURE infant car seat onto the installed base, pressing down firmly until it clicks into place. Check for green indicators on the car seat release mechanism.
5. Always check for a secure fit by pulling on the car seat and base. There should be minimal movement.

4.2 Car Seat Installation (without Base - using vehicle seat belt)

1. Place the infant car seat rear-facing on the vehicle seat.
2. Route the vehicle's lap belt through the blue belt guides on the car seat.
3. Buckle the lap belt.
4. Route the shoulder belt through the blue belt guide at the back of the car seat.
5. Pull the shoulder belt tight to remove all slack, ensuring the car seat is securely fastened.
6. The car seat should not move more than 1 inch (2.5 cm) side-to-side or front-to-back at the belt path.

4.3 Adjusting the Harness

1. To loosen the harness, press the harness release button and pull the shoulder straps forward.
2. Place your child in the car seat. The shoulder straps should be at or just below your child's shoulders when rear-facing.
3. Buckle the harness clips together and insert them into the buckle until they click.
4. Pull the harness adjustment strap to tighten the harness until it is snug against your child's body. You should not be able to pinch any slack at the shoulder.

5.1 Carrying the Car Seat

• Ensure the carry handle is locked in the upright position before lifting.
• Always use two hands to lift and carry the car seat with your child inside.

5.2 Adjusting the Canopy

• The canopy can be extended or retracted by pulling it forward or pushing it back.
• Some models feature an extendable sun visor for additional protection.

5.3 Attaching to a Stroller (Travel System Functionality)
