2. Safety Information

4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover, typically on the back or side of the display unit.

- Insert one LR44 1.5V battery, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
4.2 Initial Zero Setting
- Ensure the measuring surfaces are clean and free from dust or debris.
- Gently close the measuring heads by releasing the control lever.
- Press the "ZERO" button. The display should show "0.0000" or "0.00" depending on the unit setting. If not, repeat the process.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Taking a Measurement
- Press the "OFF/ON" button to power on the gauge.
- Ensure the gauge is zeroed as described in Section 4.2.
- Press the control lever to open the measuring heads.
- Carefully place the material to be measured between the upper and lower measuring heads.
- Release the control lever gently, allowing the measuring heads to close onto the material. Avoid applying excessive pressure.
- Read the thickness value displayed on the LCD screen.
- For optimal accuracy, it is recommended to take multiple measurements and average the results.

5.2 Unit Conversion (Inch/mm)
To switch between imperial (inches) and metric (millimeters) units, press the "inch/mm" button. The display will instantly convert the reading to the selected unit.

5.3 Auto Power-Off
The gauge features an automatic power-off function after approximately 5 minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the gauge with a clean, dry, soft cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners. Ensure the measuring surfaces are always clean.
- Storage: Store the gauge in its protective case in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery: Replace the battery when the display becomes dim or erratic. Remove the battery if storing for extended periods.
