1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your HENYIN HYM10 Electronic Keyless Code Door Lock. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure proper function and longevity of the product.

1.1 Product Overview

The HENYIN HYM10 is an advanced electronic keyless door lock designed for residential and office use. It offers multiple access methods including passcodes, Mifare cards, and traditional mechanical keys, providing enhanced security and convenience.

1.2 Package Contents

2. Safety Information

Observe the following safety precautions to prevent injury or damage to the product.

  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the lock. This may void the warranty and compromise security.
  • Keep mechanical keys in a secure location away from the lock.
  • Avoid exposing the lock to extreme temperatures or direct moisture.
  • Ensure correct battery polarity when installing batteries. Replace all batteries simultaneously with new ones of the same type.
  • Do not use corrosive cleaners on the lock's finish.

3. Setup and Installation

Before installation, ensure your door meets the following specifications:

  • Door thickness: Typically 1-3/8" to 2" (35mm-50mm).
  • Backset: Adjustable 2-3/8" (60mm) or 2-3/4" (70mm).
  • Cross bore diameter: 2-1/8" (54mm).
  • Edge bore diameter: 1" (25mm).

3.1 Prepare the Door

  1. If replacing an existing lock, remove it.
  2. Use the provided template to mark and drill holes if installing on a new door.
  3. Ensure the latch bolt hole is properly aligned.

3.2 Install the Latch

  1. Insert the latch into the edge bore hole, ensuring the "UP" arrow faces upwards.
  2. Adjust the backset if necessary (2-3/8" or 2-3/4").
  3. Secure the latch with screws.

3.3 Install the Exterior Assembly

  1. Feed the cable and spindle through the cross bore hole.
  2. Align the exterior assembly with the latch and door.

3.4 Install the Interior Mounting Plate

  1. Route the cable through the mounting plate.
  2. Secure the mounting plate to the exterior assembly with screws.

3.5 Install the Interior Assembly

  1. Connect the cable from the exterior assembly to the interior assembly.
  2. Attach the interior assembly to the mounting plate, ensuring the spindle engages correctly.
  3. Secure with screws.
  4. Install 4 AA batteries (not included) into the battery compartment.

3.6 Install the Strike Plate

  1. Install the strike plate and dust box on the door frame, aligning with the latch bolt.
  2. Test the lock's operation with the door open and closed.

4. Operating Instructions

The HENYIN HYM10 lock offers multiple ways to unlock your door.

4.1 Initial Setup and Master Code

Upon first power-up, the lock will be in factory default mode. It is recommended to set a Master Code immediately.

  1. Press * then #.
  2. Enter the default Master Code (usually 123456, refer to quick start guide for confirmation) then #.
  3. Press 1 then # to enter Master Code setting mode.
  4. Enter your new 6-10 digit Master Code then #.
  5. Re-enter the new Master Code then # to confirm.

The Master Code is used for programming and cannot unlock the door directly.

4.2 Unlocking with Passcode

  1. Touch the keypad to activate it.
  2. Enter a valid User Passcode.
  3. Press #.
  4. The lock will emit a confirmation tone, and the handle can be turned to open the door.

4.3 Unlocking with Mifare Card

  1. Present a valid Mifare card to the card reader area on the keypad.
  2. The lock will emit a confirmation tone, and the handle can be turned to open the door.

4.4 Unlocking with Mechanical Key

In case of battery failure or electronic malfunction, the mechanical key can be used.

  1. Locate the hidden keyhole (usually beneath the handle or a cover).
  2. Insert the mechanical key and turn it to unlock the door.

4.5 Adding User Passcodes

The lock supports up to 1000 user codes.

  1. Press * then #.
  2. Enter the Master Code then #.
  3. Press 2 then # to enter User Code setting mode.
  4. Enter a new 6-10 digit User Passcode then #.
  5. Re-enter the new User Passcode then # to confirm.

4.6 Adding Mifare Cards

The lock supports up to 1000 Mifare cards.

  1. Press * then #.
  2. Enter the Master Code then #.
  3. Press 3 then # to enter Card setting mode.
  4. Present the Mifare card to the card reader. The lock will beep to confirm.
  5. Repeat for additional cards or press # to exit.

4.7 Deleting User Passcodes/Cards

Individual passcodes or cards can be deleted. Refer to the quick start guide for specific deletion methods (e.g., by index number or by presenting the card to be deleted).

4.8 Stay Unlocked Mode

This feature allows the door to remain unlocked for continuous access. Consult the quick start guide for activation and deactivation steps, as this typically involves a specific sequence using the Master Code.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To maintain the finish and functionality of your lock:

  • Wipe the lock surface with a soft, damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the finish and electronic components.

5.2 Battery Replacement

The lock requires 4 AA alkaline batteries. When batteries are low, the lock will provide an audible or visual low battery warning.

  1. Remove the battery cover on the interior assembly.
  2. Remove the old batteries.
  3. Insert 4 new AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Replace the battery cover.

All user settings will be retained during battery replacement.

6. Troubleshooting
