3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Turn the scale over to access the battery compartment on the underside.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert the 4 AAA batteries, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

  1. Download the OMRON Connect app from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android).
  2. Open the app and create an account or log in.

  4. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
  5. On the scale, press the Bluetooth button (usually indicated by a Bluetooth symbol) to initiate pairing mode. The Bluetooth icon on the scale's display will flash.
  6. Confirm the pairing request on your smartphone. Once connected, the Bluetooth icon on the scale will stop flashing and remain steady.

3.3 User Profile Setup

To ensure accurate measurements, set up your personal profile in the OMRON Connect app. The scale can store data for up to 4 users.

  1. In the OMRON Connect app, navigate to the 'Profile' or 'Users' section.
  2. Enter your personal data, including age, height, gender, and activity level. This information is crucial for the BIA technology to calculate body composition accurately.
  3. Repeat this process for any additional users (up to 4) who will be using the scale.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Taking a Measurement

For accurate readings, always place the scale on a hard, flat surface. Avoid carpets or uneven flooring.

  1. Step onto the scale barefoot. Ensure your feet are positioned correctly on the four electrode pads.
  2. The scale will automatically turn on and begin the measurement process.
  3. Remain still until all measurements are displayed on the LCD screen (approximately 4 seconds).
  4. Your measurements will automatically be sent to the OMRON Connect app if your smartphone is nearby with Bluetooth enabled.

4.2 Automatic User Recognition and Guest Mode

The OMRON VIVA scale can recognize up to 4 registered users based on their weight and body composition data. If an unregistered user steps on the scale, it will default to guest mode.
