The MONIX Induction Express is designed to brew rich, aromatic coffee using the traditional Moka pot method, compatible with various heat sources, including induction cooktops.

Safety Instructions

  • Always ensure the coffee maker is securely assembled before placing it on a heat source.
  • Do not overfill the water chamber above the safety valve.
  • Do not press the coffee grounds too tightly in the filter basket.
  • Use only coarse or medium-ground coffee suitable for Moka pots. Fine espresso grind can clog the filter.
  • The coffee maker becomes hot during use. Always use the handle to move it and avoid touching hot surfaces.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Never place the coffee maker in a microwave oven.
  • Ensure the heat source size is appropriate for the base of the coffee maker to prevent handle damage from excessive heat.
  • For induction cooktops, ensure the base makes full contact with the hob. Some induction hobs may require a minimum base diameter to activate. Remove any labels from the base before first use.

Setup

Before first use, wash all parts with warm water and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly. It is recommended to brew 2-3 batches of coffee and discard them to season the pot and remove any manufacturing residues.

  1. Unscrew the top chamber from the bottom chamber.
  2. Remove the filter basket.
  3. Fill the bottom chamber with cold water up to the level of the safety valve. Do not exceed this level.
  4. Insert the filter basket into the bottom chamber.
  5. Fill the filter basket with medium-ground coffee. Do not pack the coffee tightly; level it gently.
  6. Screw the top chamber firmly onto the bottom chamber, ensuring a tight seal. Do not overtighten.

Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to brew coffee with your MONIX Induction Express:

  1. Place the assembled coffee maker on your heat source (gas, electric, ceramic, or induction hob).
  2. Use a medium heat setting. High heat can burn the coffee and damage the pot.
  3. As the water heats, pressure builds, forcing hot water through the coffee grounds into the top chamber.
  4. You will hear a gurgling sound as the coffee begins to fill the top chamber.
  5. Once the top chamber is full and the gurgling sound stops, remove the coffee maker from the heat source immediately.
  6. Serve the coffee carefully. The pot will be hot.

Note on Induction Cooktops: Ensure the coffee maker's base is centered on the induction zone and fully covers the minimum diameter required by your hob. If your induction hob does not detect the coffee maker, try a different zone or consult your hob's manual for minimum cookware requirements.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper cleaning ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your coffee maker.

  • After each use, allow the coffee maker to cool completely before disassembling.
  • Unscrew the top chamber, remove the filter basket, and discard used coffee grounds.
  • Wash all parts with warm water. Do not use harsh detergents or abrasive materials, as these can damage the aluminum and affect coffee flavor.
