5. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to properly install your SUNBA Outdoor Microphone:

5.1 Mounting the Microphone

  1. Choose a suitable outdoor location for the microphone, ensuring it is within the desired audio monitoring range and protected from direct heavy rainfall if possible.
  2. Secure the microphone to a stable surface using 3mm screws (not included). The aluminum enclosure is designed for outdoor conditions.

5.2 Connecting to an IP Camera

The microphone connects to your IP camera using RCA audio and DC 12V power. The included DC splitter cable facilitates power delivery.

Scenario 1: Camera with Female RCA Audio Input

  • Connect the microphone's audio output (male RCA) to the camera's female RCA audio input.
  • Connect the DC 12V power adapter to the DC splitter cable.
  • Connect one end of the DC splitter cable to the microphone's DC input and the other end to the camera's DC input (if applicable, or power the camera separately).

Scenario 2: Camera with Male RCA Audio Input (Requires RCA Female-to-Female Adapter)

  • If your camera has a male RCA audio input, you will need an RCA female-to-female adapter (not included) to connect the microphone's male RCA output.

5.3 Initial Power-Up

6. Operating Instructions

The SUNBA Outdoor Microphone is designed for continuous operation once properly installed and powered.

  • Audio Monitoring: The microphone captures audio within a range of up to 540 square feet.
  • Automatic Gain Control (AGC): The integrated Maxim 9814 chip provides 40dB of automatic gain control, adjusting the microphone's sensitivity to optimize audio levels and reduce distortion from loud sounds.
  • Sensitivity: The microphone offers high sensitivity, picking up subtle sounds.
  • Warning Decal: Place the included warning decal in a visible location to inform individuals that audio surveillance is in progress.

7. Maintenance
