1. Safety Information

Please read all instructions carefully before assembly and use of the Baby Trend Deluxe II Nursery Center Playard. Keep this manual for future reference. Failure to follow these warnings and instructions could result in serious injury or death.

• WARNING: Suffocation Hazard. Infants can suffocate in gaps between an extra pad and the side of the playard, or on soft bedding. NEVER add a mattress, pillow, comforter, or another pad for cushioning.
• WARNING: Entrapment Hazard. Strings can cause strangulation. NEVER place items with a string around a child's neck, such as hood strings or pacifier cords. NEVER suspend strings over a playard or attach strings to toys.
• Always ensure the playard is fully assembled and all locking mechanisms are engaged before placing a child inside.
• Discontinue use of the bassinet feature when the infant begins to push up on hands and knees, or has reached 15 lbs (6.8 kg) or 22-25 inches (56-63.5 cm), whichever comes first.
• Discontinue use of the changing table when the infant has reached 15 lbs (6.8 kg) or 22-25 inches (56-63.5 cm), whichever comes first.
• The playard is intended for children unable to climb out, less than 35 inches (89 cm) tall, and weighing less than 30 lbs (13.6 kg).
• NEVER leave child unattended. Always keep child in view when in playard.
• Do not use this product if it is damaged or broken. Contact customer service for replacement parts.

3. Setup

Follow these steps to properly set up your Baby Trend Deluxe II Nursery Center Playard.

1. Unpack Components: Remove all components from the carry tote. Ensure all parts are present: main playard frame, bassinet, changing table, electronic music center, canopy, parent organizer, and mattress pad.
2. Unfold Playard Frame: Place the playard on a flat, level surface. Pull the center straps upwards to begin unfolding. Ensure all four top rails are locked into place. You should hear an audible 'click' for each rail. If a rail does not lock, pull the center straps up further and try again.
3. Push Down Center Hub: Once all rails are locked, push the center hub of the playard floor downwards until it lies flat and secure.
4. Install Bassinet (Optional): If using the bassinet feature, place it into the top of the playard frame, ensuring it hooks securely onto all four sides.
5. Attach Changing Table (Optional): Secure the changing table to the designated attachment points on the playard rails. Ensure it is firmly attached and stable.
6. Attach Electronic Music Center: Clip the electronic music center to the side rail as indicated in the diagrams. Insert required batteries (not included) if applicable for full functionality.
7. Attach Canopy/Toy Bar: Secure the canopy to the bassinet or playard as desired. If using as a toy bar, ensure the plush toys are securely attached.
8. Install Parent Organizer: Attach the parent organizer to the side of the playard for convenient storage of essentials.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Using the Bassinet

The full-size bassinet provides a comfortable, elevated sleeping area for newborns. Ensure it is securely attached to the playard frame. Always remove the bassinet when your child reaches the maximum weight or height limit (15 lbs or 22-25 inches) or begins to push up on hands and knees.

4.2 Using the Changing Table

The flip-away changing table offers a convenient surface for diaper changes. It can be flipped out of the way when not in use. Always use the secure belt provided when using the changing table. Never leave your child unattended on the changing table.

4.3 Electronic Music Center

The electronic unit provides soothing features for your child:

• Music: Select from various melodies to soothe your child.
• Night Light: Provides a soft glow for nighttime visibility.
• Vibration: Gentle vibrations can help calm and comfort your infant.

4.4 Canopy and Toy Bar

The adjustable canopy provides shade and can be unzipped to convert into a toy bar. Attach the two plush toys to the toy bar to engage your child during awake times.

4.5 Mobility and Storage

The playard is equipped with dual wheels for easy movement around your home. Engage the brakes on the wheels when the playard is stationary to ensure stability. For travel or storage, the playard features an easy compact fold and fits into the included carry tote.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

• Fabric: Wipe fabric parts with a damp cloth and mild soap. Air dry. Do not use bleach.
• Plastic and Metal: Wipe plastic and metal parts with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
• Always ensure all parts are completely dry before folding or storing to prevent mold or mildew.

5.2 Storage

To store the playard, follow the compact folding instructions. Place the folded playard and all accessories into the provided carry tote. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Baby Trend Deluxe II Nursery Center Playard, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

• Playard Rails Not Locking: Ensure the center hub of the playard floor is pulled upwards before attempting to lock the rails. Once rails are locked, push the center hub down firmly. If a rail still doesn't lock, try wiggling it slightly while pulling up on the center hub.
• Difficulty Folding: Ensure the center hub is pulled upwards completely before attempting to unlock the side rails. All rails must be unlocked before the playard can be folded compactly.
• Electronic Unit Not Functioning: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are fresh. If the unit still does not work, contact customer support.
• Playard Feels Unstable: Verify that all four top rails are securely locked and the center hub is pushed down flat. Ensure the playard is on a level surface.
