Please read all instructions carefully before operating the KWS SL-48 Electric Fresh Meat Cutter. Failure to follow these safety guidelines may result in serious injury or damage to the appliance.
- Electrical Safety: Ensure the appliance is connected to a grounded outlet with the correct voltage (110V/60Hz). Do not operate with a damaged cord or plug. Keep the power cord away from heated surfaces.
- Blade Safety: The cutting blades are extremely sharp. Always exercise extreme caution when handling, cleaning, or assembling the blade set. Never touch the blades directly with bare hands.
- Operation Safety:
- Always use the provided meat pusher to feed meat into the machine. Never use hands or fingers.
- Ensure the safety guard is properly in place before operation.
- Do not attempt to slice frozen meat or meat with bones, as this can damage the blades and motor.
- Do not overload the machine.
- In case of emergency, immediately press the red emergency stop button.

3. Setup and Assembly
3.1 Unpacking

3.2 Placement
Place the meat cutter on a stable, level, and sturdy surface capable of supporting its weight (approximately 75 lbs). Ensure there is adequate space around the machine for safe operation and ventilation. Keep it away from heat sources and water.

3.4 Power Connection
Plug the power cord into a suitable grounded electrical outlet. Verify that the voltage and frequency match the machine's requirements (110V/60Hz).
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Preparing the Meat
- Ensure meat is fresh and boneless. Remove any hard gristle or foreign objects.
- Cut meat into pieces that fit comfortably into the feeding chute (approximately 1.5 to 2 inches thick for optimal slicing).
4.2 Starting the Machine
- Ensure the machine is properly assembled and plugged in.
- Verify that the emergency stop button is disengaged (pulled out).
- Press the green "ON" button to start the motor. The blades will begin to rotate.

4.3 Feeding Meat
- Carefully place prepared meat into the feeding chute.
- Use the provided meat pusher to guide the meat towards the rotating blades. Never use your hands or fingers.
- Allow the machine to process the meat at its own pace. Do not force meat into the chute.

4.4 Stopping the Machine
- To stop normal operation, press the red "OFF" button.
- In an emergency, press the red emergency stop button firmly. This will immediately cut power to the motor. To restart, twist the emergency stop button to release it, then press the green "ON" button.
5. Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular cleaning and maintenance are essential for the longevity and hygienic operation of your meat cutter.
5.1 Daily Cleaning
- Unplug the machine: Always disconnect the power supply before cleaning.
- Disassemble: Carefully remove the feeding tray, safety guard, and blade assembly. Refer to the product diagrams for proper disassembly.
- Wash Components: Hand wash all removable parts (tray, guard, blade assembly) with warm, soapy water. Use a brush to remove any meat residue from the blades and combs. Exercise extreme caution with blades.
- Clean Main Unit: Wipe down the exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid getting water into electrical components.
- Rinse and Dry: Rinse all washed components thoroughly with clean water. Dry all parts completely before reassembly to prevent rust.
- Reassemble: Carefully reassemble the machine, ensuring all parts are correctly seated and secured.
5.2 Blade Care
The blades are designed for durability but can dull over time with heavy use. KWS KitchenWare Station offers replacement blade sets. Do not attempt to sharpen the blades yourself unless you have specialized equipment and training.
