3. Setup and Assembly
The MotoTec Fatboy Electric Scooter requires some assembly before first use.
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
- Handlebar Installation: Attach the handlebars to the steering column. Ensure all bolts are securely tightened.
- Seat Installation: Insert the seat post into the designated slot and adjust to a comfortable height. Secure the seat with the quick-release lever or bolts.
- Initial Charge: Before first use, fully charge the scooter's battery. Connect the charger to the scooter's charging port and then to a standard electrical outlet. The charging time is approximately 4-8 hours. Refer to the "Charging the Battery" section for more details.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Powering On/Off
- To power on the scooter, insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position.
- To power off, turn the key to the "OFF" position and remove it.
4.2 Riding the Scooter
- Starting: With the scooter powered on, gently push off with one foot and then slowly apply the throttle.
- Speed Selection: The scooter features 3 selectable speeds: 5 MPH, 10 MPH, and 18 MPH. Use the speed selector switch on the handlebars to choose your desired speed.
- Braking: Use the brake levers on the handlebars to slow down or stop. Apply both brakes evenly for stable stopping.
- Headlight and Horn: The scooter is equipped with a front LED light for night riding and a horn for signaling. Operate these using the respective switches on the handlebars.
- Adjusting Seat: The seat height can be adjusted for rider comfort. Loosen the quick-release lever on the seat post, adjust the height, and then securely fasten the lever.

4.3 Charging the Battery
- Ensure the scooter is powered off before charging.
- Locate the charging port on the scooter.
- Connect the charger to the charging port, then plug the charger into a standard electrical outlet.
- The charger indicator light will typically show red during charging and turn green when fully charged.
- Charging time is approximately 4-8 hours. Do not overcharge the battery.
- A full charge provides a range of 5-15 miles, depending on rider weight, terrain, and speed.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Battery Care
- The battery has a life of over 250 charges.
- To prolong battery life, avoid completely draining the battery before recharging.
- Store the scooter in a cool, dry place when not in use, and ensure the battery is partially charged if storing for extended periods.
5.2 Tire Maintenance
- Regularly check the pressure of the pneumatic tires. Maintain the recommended pressure for optimal performance and safety.
- Inspect tires for wear, punctures, or damage before each ride.
5.3 Brake Adjustment
If the brakes squeak, feel loose, or drag, they may require adjustment.
- Locate the two adjustment bolts with springs on the brake levers.
- Adjust these bolts incrementally, tightening or loosening, until the wheel spins freely without resistance or noise when the brake is not applied.

5.4 General Cleaning
Clean the scooter with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or excessive water, especially near electrical components.
