Setup Guide

1. Battery Installation

The Dark Ops Extreme camera requires 4 AA batteries for operation. For optimal performance, especially in low temperatures, lithium batteries are recommended. To install:

  1. Open the camera's front cover by unlatching the side clips.
  2. Locate the battery compartment.
  3. Insert 4 AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

2. SD Card Installation

A 32GB Class 10 SD card is included with your bundle. The camera supports SD cards up to 512GB. To install:

  1. With the camera cover open, locate the SD card slot on the side of the control panel.
  2. Insert the SD card into the slot with the label facing forward until it clicks into place.
  3. It is recommended to format the SD card through the camera's menu before first use.

3. Initial Configuration

After installing batteries and the SD card, power on the camera and access the menu to set essential parameters:

  • Set Date and Time: Navigate to the 'Date & Time' setting to ensure accurate timestamps on your captures.
  • Select Mode: Choose between Photo, Video, or Timelapse+ mode based on your monitoring needs.
  • Adjust Photo/Video Quality: Select your desired resolution (e.g., 16MP for photos, 1280x720 HD for videos).
  • Configure Detection Settings: Adjust PIR sensitivity, detection delay, and enable/disable side motion sensors.

4. Mounting the Camera

The camera is designed for easy mounting on trees or posts using the included straps. Ensure the camera is securely fastened and pointed towards the desired monitoring area.

  • Motion Detection: The camera features an adjustable 80-feet wide detection range and a rapid 0.6-second trigger speed to capture fast-moving subjects.
  • Timelapse+ Mode: This mode allows the camera to capture images at set intervals, in addition to triggering on motion. The included Buck Watch Time-Lapse Viewer Plus software can be used to review these captures.

Viewing Captured Media

To review your captured photos and videos:

  1. Remove the SD card from the camera.
  2. Insert the SD card into the Focus USB 2.0 Card Reader.
  3. Connect the card reader to your computer's USB port.
  4. Access the files on the SD card through your computer's file explorer.
