Setup
1. Connecting the Base Station
- Connect the telephone line cord to the LINE jack on the base station and to your telephone wall jack.
- Connect the AC adapter to the POWER jack on the base station and plug it into a standard electrical outlet.
2. Installing Handset Batteries
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of each handset.
- Insert the supplied rechargeable battery pack, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover.
3. Charging Handsets
Place each handset on its respective base station or charging cradle. The charge indicator on the handset display will show charging status. For optimal battery life, charge the handsets for at least 7 hours before first use.
4. Initial Setup
Upon first use, the handset display may prompt you to set the language, date, and time. Follow the on-screen instructions to configure these settings.
Operating Instructions
Making and Receiving Calls
- To Make a Call: Press the Talk button (green receiver icon), then dial the number. Alternatively, dial the number first and then press Talk.
- To Receive a Call: When the phone rings, press the Talk button.
- To End a Call: Press the End button (red receiver icon) or place the handset back on the base/cradle.
Volume Adjustment
During a call, use the + and - buttons on the side of the handset to adjust the earpiece volume. The KX-TGE522GS features a boost button for significantly louder audio, up to four times louder than standard models.
