Installation Types
The FS-7600B supports three primary installation types to accommodate various door configurations and aesthetic preferences:
- Regular (Pull Side): The closer mounts to the door, and the arm mounts to the frame. This method is used when you pull the door to open and is ideal for interior doors, offering strong closing force.
- Parallel (Push Side): The closer mounts to the door, and the arm mounts under the frame. This method is used when you push the door to open. The arm is tucked into the underside of the frame for a cleaner appearance.
- Top Jamb (Push Side): The closer mounts to the frame, and the arm mounts to the door. This method is more common on aluminum and glass doors and keeps the door face uncluttered.

Adjustment and Operation
The FS-7600B door closer offers customizable performance with adjustable settings for closing force and timing. Use the provided Allen wrench to make precise adjustments.
Latching Speed Adjustment
This adjustment controls the final closing speed of the door from 15° to 0°, preventing the door from slamming shut. Turn the adjustment valve to achieve a slower or faster latching speed.
Closing Speed Adjustment
This adjustment controls the main swing closing speed of the door from 180° to 15°. Adjust this to set the overall speed at which the door closes.
Backcheck Adjustment
The backcheck feature provides final opening resistance, protecting the door and door frame from damage caused by the door being opened too forcefully or rapidly. Adjust to strengthen or reduce this resistance.
Spring Power Adjustment
The spring power can be adjusted from Size 1 to 6 to suit the weight and width of the door, influencing the overall closing force.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your FORTSTRONG FS-7600B Commercial Door Closer, regular maintenance is recommended:
- Regular Inspection: Periodically check all mounting screws and bolts to ensure they are tight. Verify that the closer body and arm are securely attached to the door and frame.
- Arm Alignment: Ensure the door closer arm is properly aligned and moves freely without obstruction.
- Smooth Operation: Observe the door's closing and opening cycle. If it feels rough or inconsistent, re-check the adjustment settings.
- Cleaning: Clean the exterior of the door closer with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your FS-7600B door closer, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
Door Not Closing Properly
- Check Adjustment Settings: Ensure the Latching Speed and Closing Speed adjustments are set appropriately for the door's weight and traffic. A common issue is the latching speed being too slow, preventing the door from fully closing.
- Verify Secure Mounting: Confirm that all mounting screws are tight and the closer body and arm are securely attached to the door and frame. Loose components can affect performance.
- Inspect for Obstructions: Look for any physical obstructions (e.g., floor mats, debris, misaligned door hardware) that might be preventing the door from closing fully.
Door Too Hard to Open
- Adjust Spring Power: If the door is excessively difficult to open, reduce the spring power setting. This lessens the closing force.
- Review Backcheck Adjustment: Ensure the backcheck adjustment is not set too high, as this can create significant resistance when the door is opened.
