Operating Instructions

Popping Popcorn

  1. Measure Kernels: Add 1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of unpopped popcorn kernels to the glass bowl. Do not exceed 1/2 cup for the 3-quart model to prevent overfilling.
  2. Add Oil (Optional): For flavored popcorn, you may add a small amount (1/2 to 1 teaspoon) of cooking oil directly to the kernels. Stir to coat. This step is optional; popcorn can be popped without oil.
  3. Place Lid: Securely place the multi-purpose silicone lid onto the glass bowl. The lid has a measuring line for kernels and can also be used to melt butter.
  4. Microwave: Place the assembled popper in the center of your microwave oven.
  5. Set Time: Microwave on high power for approximately 2 to 4 minutes. Popping times vary depending on microwave wattage. Listen carefully.
  6. Listen for Popping: Stop the microwave when the popping slows to 1-2 seconds between pops. Overcooking can lead to burning.
  7. Remove and Serve: Carefully remove the hot popper from the microwave using oven mitts. The lid can be used to pour melted butter over the popcorn, or you can add seasonings directly to the bowl.

Melting Butter (Using the Lid)

  • Place desired amount of butter into the lid's measuring well.
  • As the popcorn pops, the heat from the glass bowl will gently melt the butter.
  • Once popping is complete, carefully remove the lid and pour the melted butter over the freshly popped corn.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Proper cleaning ensures the longevity and performance of your popcorn popper.

  • Cool Down: Always allow the glass bowl and silicone lid to cool completely before cleaning.
  • Dishwasher Safe: Both the glass bowl and the silicone lid are top-rack dishwasher safe.
  • Hand Washing: For hand washing, use warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Stubborn Residue: For any stubborn oil or butter residue, a baking soda paste can be used. Apply, let sit for a few minutes, then scrub gently and rinse.
  • Storage: Store the clean, dry popper in a safe place where it won't be chipped or broken.
