Model: DC001

1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the proper application, maintenance, and removal of DND DC Gel & Polish DC001 Inky Point. Please read this guide thoroughly before use to ensure optimal results and product longevity. DND DC Gel & Polish is a two-step gel system designed for professional and home use, offering vibrant color and a durable, glossy finish.

2. Safety Information

  • For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes and skin other than nails. In case of contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat. Keep bottles tightly closed when not in use.
  • Do not apply to damaged or infected nails. Discontinue use if irritation or allergic reaction occurs.
  • Use in a well-ventilated area.
  • Flammable liquid and vapor. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames, and other ignition sources. No smoking.

3. Setup and Preparation

Proper nail preparation is essential for a long-lasting gel manicure.

  1. Clean Nails: Ensure nails are clean, dry, and free of any old polish, oils, or lotions. Use a nail cleanser or alcohol wipe.
  2. Shape Nails: File and shape your nails to your desired length and shape.
  3. Push Back Cuticles: Gently push back cuticles using a cuticle pusher. Remove any excess cuticle tissue.
  4. Buff Nails: Lightly buff the surface of each nail with a fine-grit buffer to remove shine and create a porous surface for better adhesion. Remove dust with a clean brush.
  5. Dehydrate Nails: Apply a nail dehydrator or primer (if desired, not included) to remove any remaining moisture and oils.
  6. Shake Bottles: Gently roll the DND DC Gel & Polish bottles between your palms to mix the contents thoroughly. Avoid shaking vigorously to prevent air bubbles.

4. Operating Instructions: Application

Follow these steps for a professional gel manicure application.

  1. Apply Base Coat: Apply a thin, even layer of DND DC Base Gel (usually the clear bottle) to all nails. Cap the free edge to prevent chipping.
  2. Cure Base Coat: Cure under a UV lamp for 60 seconds or an LED lamp for 30 seconds. The nail surface will remain tacky; do not touch or wipe.
  3. Apply First Color Coat: Apply a thin, even layer of DND DC Color Gel (DC001 Inky Point) to all nails. Cap the free edge. Ensure not to get polish on the cuticles or skin.
  4. Cure First Color Coat: Cure under a UV lamp for 60 seconds or an LED lamp for 30 seconds.
  5. Apply Second Color Coat: Apply a second thin, even layer of DND DC Color Gel (DC001 Inky Point) for full opacity and vibrant color. Cap the free edge.
  6. Cure Second Color Coat: Cure under a UV lamp for 60 seconds or an LED lamp for 30 seconds.
  7. Apply Top Coat: Apply a thin, even layer of DND DC Top Gel (usually the clear bottle) to all nails. Cap the free edge. This provides shine and protection.
  8. Cure Top Coat: Cure under a UV lamp for 120 seconds or an LED lamp for 60 seconds.
  9. Wipe Sticky Layer: After the final cure, the nails will have a sticky inhibition layer. Wipe this layer off with a lint-free wipe saturated with 90% Isopropyl Alcohol or a gel cleanser. This reveals the high-gloss finish.

Note: The traditional nail polish (DC001 Inky Point) included in the set can be used for touch-ups or matching pedicures, but it does not require UV/LED curing and will air dry.

5. Maintenance and Removal

5.1. Product Storage

  • Store bottles upright in a cool, dark place away from direct sunlight and UV/LED lamps.
  • Ensure caps are tightly sealed after each use to prevent air exposure and product thickening.

5.2. Gel Polish Removal

Proper removal is crucial to maintain nail health.

  1. Buff Top Coat: Gently buff the top layer of the gel polish with a 100/180 grit file to break the seal. Be careful not to buff into the natural nail.
  2. Soak Nails: Saturate a cotton ball with 100% pure acetone. Place the cotton ball on the nail and wrap each finger tightly with aluminum foil.
  3. Wait: Allow nails to soak for 10-15 minutes. For stubborn polish, you may need to soak longer.
  4. Remove Polish: Remove the foil and cotton. The gel polish should appear lifted or flaky. Gently scrape off the softened gel with a wooden cuticle stick or metal pusher. Do not force or aggressively scrape.
  5. Clean and Hydrate: Remove any remaining residue with a clean cotton ball soaked in acetone. Wash hands thoroughly and apply cuticle oil and hand lotion to rehydrate nails and skin.
