Setup and Installation

1. Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the BT-S3 unit. Connect the provided USB charging cable to the charging/microphone jack on the intercom unit and to a USB power source. The LED indicator will show charging status.

2. Installing the Intercom Unit on the Helmet

The BT-S3 offers two installation methods:

  • Clip Mount: Secure the clamp unit to the edge of your helmet using the screws and wrench. Ensure it is firmly attached.
  • Velcro Mount: Attach the Velcro pad to a flat surface on your helmet. Then, press the intercom unit onto the Velcro.

Choose the method that best suits your helmet type and preference. Ensure the unit is positioned for easy access to controls.

3. Connecting Headset and Microphone

Insert the headset and microphone cable into the designated jack on the intercom unit. Ensure the connection is secure. Position the earpieces inside the helmet so they are aligned with your ears for optimal sound. Position the boom microphone close to your mouth for clear voice transmission.

4. Correct Cable Orientation

It is crucial to install the headset cable correctly. Refer to the diagram below for the right and wrong way to connect the cable to ensure proper audio quality.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the Power/Intercom Button until the LED indicator lights up.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the Power/Intercom Button until the LED indicator turns off.

2. Bluetooth Pairing (Phone)

  • With the unit off, press and hold the Power/Intercom Button until the LED flashes red and blue alternately, indicating pairing mode.
  • On your mobile phone, enable Bluetooth and search for "BT-S3NS" (or "BT-S3" for older versions).
  • Select the device to pair. Once connected, the LED will flash blue slowly.

3. Intercom Communication

The BT-S3 supports communication between up to 3 units, with 2 communicating simultaneously.

  • Pairing Intercoms: Ensure both units are off. On both units, press and hold the Power/Intercom Button until they enter pairing mode (red and blue flashing). Briefly press the Power/Intercom Button on one unit to initiate pairing. Once paired, the LEDs will flash blue slowly. Repeat for a third unit if desired.
  • Initiating Intercom Call: Briefly press the Power/Intercom Button on your unit to start an intercom conversation with a paired unit.
  • Ending Intercom Call: Briefly press the Power/Intercom Button again to end the intercom conversation.

4. Phone Call Functions

  • Answer Call: Briefly press the Phone Button.
  • Reject Call: Press and hold the Phone Button for 2 seconds.
  • Redial Last Number: Double-press the Phone Button.

5. Music Playback

  • Play/Pause: Briefly press the Phone Button.
  • Next Track: Briefly press the Volume Up/Next Track button.
  • Previous Track: Briefly press the Volume Down/Pre Track button.

6. FM Radio

  • Turn On/Off FM Radio: Press and hold the Volume Up/Next Track button for 2 seconds to turn on the FM radio. Press and hold again to turn off.
  • Scan Stations: Briefly press the Volume Up/Next Track or Volume Down/Pre Track button to scan for the next/previous available station.

7. Voice Assistant

  • Activate Voice Assistant: Double-press the Power/Intercom Button to activate your phone's voice assistant (e.g., Siri, Google Assistant).

8. Volume Control

  • Increase Volume: Press the Volume Up/Next Track button.
  • Decrease Volume: Press the Volume Down/Pre Track button.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the unit. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Water Resistance: The unit is waterproof and resistant to sweat, water, and rain. However, avoid submerging it in water. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed when not charging.
  • Battery Care: To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge the unit regularly, especially if not used for extended periods.
