4. Product Overview

4.1 Front Panel

The front panel of the SINGTOOLS mixer provides access to all primary controls for vocal effects, pitch correction, and volume adjustments.

  • EFFECT VOLUME SINGING (SPEECH): Adjusts the volume of the selected vocal effect.
  • PITCH CORRECTION (VOICE CHANGER): Controls the amount of pitch correction applied to the vocals. Push to activate Voice Changer.
  • EFFECT SELECT (PUSH=SELECT): Rotates to select different vocal effects. Push to confirm selection.
  • Digital Display: Shows the currently selected effect number.
  • VOCAL ELIMINATOR (STEREO L R MONO): Reduces the original vocals from a non-karaoke track. Switch between Stereo, Left, Right, or Mono output.
  • MUSIC VOL: Adjusts the volume of the background music input.
  • MIC1 VOL: Adjusts the volume of Microphone 1.
  • MIC2 VOL: Adjusts the volume of Microphone 2.

4.2 Rear Panel

The rear panel houses all input and output connections for the SINGTOOLS mixer.

  • MIC2 IN (1/4" TRS): Input for Microphone 2.
  • MIC1 IN (1/4" TRS): Input for Microphone 1.
  • MUSIC IN (3.5mm Stereo): Input for external music source (e.g., smartphone, tablet).
  • MIXED OUT 2 (3.5mm Stereo): Secondary mixed audio output.
  • MIXED OUT 1 (3.5mm Stereo): Primary mixed audio output.
  • MIC OUT (1/4" TRS): Dedicated output for microphone signals.
  • FOOT SWITCH (1/4" TRS): Input for an optional foot switch to control effects.
  • POWER (9V DC): Power input jack for the included adapter.

4.3 Vocal Effects List

The SINGTOOLS mixer offers 99 distinct vocal effects, combining various reverbs, echoes, harmonies, and pitch modifications. The full list is printed on the top surface of the unit.

Examples of effects include: Bright+Echo, Warm+Hall, Vocal+Plate+Echo, Doubling+Room, PitchCor+Hall, PureHarmo+Room, FunnyChoir+Hall, DeepHarmo+Rev, and many more combinations of pitch correction, harmonies, echo, reverb, and special effects.

5. Setup

  1. Power Connection: Connect the supplied 9V DC power adapter to the "POWER" jack on the rear panel. Plug the adapter into a suitable power outlet.
  2. Microphone Connection: Connect your microphones to the "MIC1 IN" and "MIC2 IN" 1/4" TRS jacks on the rear panel.
  3. Music Source Connection: Connect your music source (e.g., smartphone, tablet, CD player) to the "MUSIC IN" 3.5mm stereo jack on the rear panel using an appropriate audio cable.
  4. Output Connection: Connect the "MIXED OUT 1" or "MIXED OUT 2" 3.5mm stereo jacks to your sound system, amplifier, or powered speakers. Alternatively, use the "MIC OUT" 1/4" TRS jack for a dedicated microphone output.
  5. Foot Switch (Optional): If using an optional foot switch, connect it to the "FOOT SWITCH" 1/4" TRS jack.

6. Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Once all connections are made, the unit will power on automatically when connected to power.
  2. Adjusting Volumes:
    • Rotate the MUSIC VOL knob to adjust the background music level.
    • Rotate the MIC1 VOL and MIC2 VOL knobs to adjust the individual microphone levels.
    • Rotate the EFFECT VOLUME SINGING knob to control the intensity of the selected vocal effect.
  3. Selecting Vocal Effects:
    • Rotate the EFFECT SELECT knob to browse through the 99 available vocal effects. The digital display will show the effect number.
    • Press the EFFECT SELECT knob to confirm your selection.
  4. Using Pitch Correction: Rotate the PITCH CORRECTION knob to apply real-time pitch correction to your vocals. Turn clockwise for more correction.
  5. Activating Voice Changer: Press the PITCH CORRECTION knob to toggle the Voice Changer function on or off.
  6. Using Vocal Eliminator: The VOCAL ELIMINATOR switch reduces the lead vocals from a stereo track.
    • Set the switch to the desired output mode: STEREO, L (Left channel only), R (Right channel only), or MONO.
    • The vocal eliminator works best on tracks where vocals are centrally panned.
  7. Foot Switch Control (Optional): If a foot switch is connected, it can be used to toggle certain effects or functions as defined by the unit's internal programming (refer to specific foot switch manual if applicable).

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use liquid cleaners or aerosols.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the unit in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Handling: Avoid dropping the unit or subjecting it to strong impacts.

8. Troubleshooting

Vocal Eliminator not working effectively.
  • Source track not suitable.
  • Switch setting incorrect.
  • Vocal eliminator works best on tracks with vocals centrally panned. Some tracks may not be fully compatible.
  • Ensure the VOCAL ELIMINATOR switch is set correctly (e.g., STEREO).
Knob (e.g., Effect Select) not responding.
  • Potential internal issue.
