4. Setup

Before initial use, ensure the unit is placed on a stable, non-conductive surface. Confirm that the AC power cord and battery clamps are free from damage. The unit is designed for ease of use with a compact form factor.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Charging a Battery

Follow these steps to safely charge a vehicle battery:

  1. Turn off all the vehicle's accessories. Connect the positive (red) clamp to the positive (+) battery post. Connect the negative (black) clamp to the vehicle chassis or engine block, away from the battery.
  2. Connect the charger's AC power cord to a 120V AC outlet.
  3. Select the battery type and then press the Rate Selection button until the desired charge rate (e.g., 2A, 12A, 30A) is selected. If a rate is not selected, the charger will begin charging at the Boost rate.
  4. When charging is complete (indicated by a green Charged/Maintaining LED), press the Rate Selection button, unplug the power cord, and then remove clamps in reverse order of step 1.

Note: Marine/boat batteries should be removed from the vessel and charged on shore.

5.2. Battery and Alternator Testing
