Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the security and functionality of your door lock. It is recommended to have this product installed by a qualified professional if you are unfamiliar with door hardware installation.

Installation Steps:

1. Prepare the Door: Ensure the door is properly prepared with the necessary bore holes and mortises for the lock body and latch. If replacing an existing lock, remove the old hardware.
2. Install the Latch Bolt: Insert the latch bolt into the edge of the door, ensuring the bevel faces the door frame. Secure it with the provided screws.
3. Install the Lock Body: Position the main lock body onto the door, aligning it with the latch bolt mechanism. Ensure the spindle (if applicable) passes through the latch.
4. Secure the Lock Body: Fasten the lock body to the door using the provided mounting screws. Do not overtighten.
5. Install the Cylinder/Key Mechanism: Insert the key cylinder into its designated slot on the exterior side of the lock. Secure it from the interior side, typically with a retaining screw or plate.
6. Install the Strike Plate: On the door frame, align and install the strike plate where the latch bolt will engage when the door is closed. Ensure smooth operation.
7. Test Operation: Close the door and test the lock's operation with the key from the exterior and the knob/thumbturn from the interior. Ensure the latch extends and retracts smoothly and the deadbolt engages fully.

Operating Instructions

Locking the Door:

• From the Exterior: Insert the key into the keyway and turn it to engage the deadbolt. Remove the key.
• From the Interior: Rotate the thumbturn or knob on the interior side of the lock to engage the deadbolt.

Unlocking the Door:

• From the Exterior: Insert the key into the keyway and turn it to retract the deadbolt.
• From the Interior: Rotate the thumbturn or knob on the interior side of the lock to retract the deadbolt.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the smooth operation and extends the life of your door lock.

• Cleaning: Wipe the lock's exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that may damage the finish.
• Lubrication: Periodically apply a small amount of graphite lubricant or a silicone-based spray lubricant into the keyway and on moving parts of the latch bolt. Do not use oil-based lubricants as they can attract dust and grime.
