Maintenance

  • Cleaning: After each use, rinse the camera with fresh water to remove any salt, dirt, or debris. Ensure the lens is clean for optimal video quality.
  • Drying: Thoroughly dry the camera, especially around the charging port and cap seals, before storing or recharging to prevent corrosion and maintain waterproof integrity.
  • Battery Care: For long-term storage, charge the battery to approximately 50%. Store in a cool, dry place. Avoid fully discharging the battery for extended periods.
  • Seal Inspection: Regularly inspect the O-rings and seals on the waterproof cap for any signs of wear, cracks, or debris. Replace if necessary to maintain water resistance.
  • Storage: Store the GoFish Cam in a protective case or bag to prevent scratches and damage to the lens and body.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your GoFish Cam, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • Camera Not Turning On: Ensure the battery is sufficiently charged. Connect the camera to a power source and allow it to charge for at least 30 minutes before attempting to power on again.
  • Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues: Verify that the camera is powered on and its Wi-Fi is active. Ensure your mobile device's Wi-Fi is enabled and try reconnecting. Move closer to the camera to improve signal strength.
  • Recording Problems: Check if a MicroSD card is properly inserted and has sufficient free space. Ensure the card is formatted correctly (FAT32). If recording stops unexpectedly, the battery might be low or the MicroSD card may be full or corrupted.
  • Poor Video Quality: Clean the camera lens thoroughly. Ensure there is adequate light in the underwater environment. Water clarity significantly impacts video quality.
  • App Freezing/Crashing: Close and restart the GoFish Cam app. Ensure your mobile device's operating system and the app are updated to their latest versions.
