Setup

1. Charging the Battery

The DC720 has a rechargeable battery. Before first use, connect the dashcam to your vehicle's power outlet using the supplied car charger. The battery will charge while the vehicle is running.

2. Inserting the Memory Card

Locate the microSD card slot on the dashcam. Insert the provided 16GB memory card with the gold contacts facing the back of the camera until it clicks into place. Ensure the card is fully inserted. For optimal performance, it is recommended to format the memory card within the dashcam's settings before initial use and periodically thereafter.

3. Mounting the Dashcam

1. Clean the area on your windshield where you intend to mount the dashcam. Ensure it is free from dust and grease.
2. Attach the suction cup mount to the dashcam.
3. Press the suction cup firmly against the windshield and flip the lever to secure it. Position the dashcam so that it does not obstruct your view and the lenses have a clear line of sight.

4. Connecting to Power

Connect the car charger to the USB port on the dashcam and plug the other end into your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket). The dashcam will typically power on automatically when the vehicle's ignition is turned on.

5. Wi-Fi Connection and App Setup

The DC720 features Wi-Fi capability for connecting to your smartphone. Download the Uniden 720 app from your device's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your smartphone to the dashcam's Wi-Fi network. This allows for live viewing, video playback, and settings adjustment directly from your phone.

Operating

Power On/Off

• Automatic: The dashcam powers on and begins recording automatically when connected to power and the vehicle's ignition is on. It powers off shortly after the ignition is turned off.
• Manual: Press and hold the Power button to manually turn the device on or off.

Recording Modes

• Continuous Recording: When powered on, the dashcam continuously records video in a loop. Older files are overwritten when the memory card is full.
• G-sensor (Collision Detection): The built-in G-sensor detects sudden impacts or rapid acceleration/deceleration. When triggered, the current recording is locked and saved to a protected folder, preventing it from being overwritten.
• Parking Mode: When enabled, the dashcam will automatically start recording if it detects motion or an impact while the vehicle is parked and the ignition is off. This feature requires a continuous power supply to the dashcam.

Viewing Footage

• On-Device: Use the control buttons to navigate the menu and play back recorded videos directly on the OLED screen.
• Via Mobile App: Connect your smartphone to the dashcam via Wi-Fi using the Uniden 720 app. You can view live footage, play back recorded videos, and download files to your phone.
• On Computer: Remove the microSD card from the dashcam and insert it into a computer's card reader. Video files can be played using standard media players.

Adjusting Settings

Access the settings menu on the dashcam or through the mobile app to configure options such as video resolution, loop recording duration, G-sensor sensitivity, parking mode settings, date/time, and Wi-Fi password.

Cleaning

Memory Card Management

• Formatting: Regularly format the microSD card (at least once a month) through the dashcam's settings menu to maintain optimal recording performance and prevent data corruption. This will erase all data on the card, so back up important files first.
