- Connect the HV620S to your computer.
- Open "This PC" or "My Computer".
- Right-click on the HV620S drive icon and select "Format...".
- In the "File system" dropdown, select "NTFS" or "exFAT".
- Ensure "Quick Format" is checked (unless a full format is desired).
- Click "Start" and confirm the action.
For macOS:
- Connect the HV620S to your Mac.
- Open "Disk Utility" (Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility).
- Select the ADATA HV620S from the sidebar.
- Click "Erase".
- Choose a format like "APFS" (for macOS only) or "ExFAT" (for cross-platform use).
- Click "Erase" and confirm the action.
3. Operating the Drive
3.1 Data Transfer
Once connected and recognized by your computer, the HV620S functions like any other storage device. You can drag and drop files, copy and paste, or use backup software to transfer data to and from the drive.
- For optimal transfer speeds, ensure you are connected to a USB 3.0/3.1/3.2 Gen 1 port on your computer.
- The blue LED will blink during data transfer, indicating activity.
3.2 LED Indicator Status
- Solid Blue: The drive is powered on and idle.

4. Maintenance
- Physical Care: Handle the drive with care. Avoid dropping it or exposing it to extreme temperatures, moisture, or strong magnetic fields.
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the drive. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Data Backup: Regularly back up important data stored on the HV620S to another location. No storage device is immune to failure.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the official ADATA website for any available firmware updates for your model.
5. Troubleshooting
- Drive Not Detected:
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the drive and the computer.
- Try a different USB port on your computer.
- Try a different USB cable.
- Restart your computer.
- Check Disk Management (Windows) or Disk Utility (macOS) to see if the drive is recognized but uninitialized or unformatted.
- Slow Transfer Speeds:
- Ensure the drive is connected to a USB 3.0/3.1/3.2 Gen 1 port. USB 2.0 ports will result in significantly slower speeds.
- Verify that your computer's USB drivers are up to date.
- Avoid transferring many small files simultaneously, as this can reduce overall speed.
- Check if the drive is nearly full, which can sometimes affect performance.
- LED Indicator Not Lighting Up:
- Ensure the drive is properly connected to a powered USB port.
- Try a different USB port or computer.
