Operating the Camera

Powering On/Off

Locate the power switch, usually inside the camera housing or on the side. Switch it to the "ON" position to power on the camera. Switch to "OFF" to power down.

Modes of Operation

The camera supports both still photo and HD video capture.

  • Still Photo: Captures 10 MP images. The camera will automatically take photos when motion is detected within its trigger range.
  • HD Video: Records 15-second HD video clips. This mode is ideal for capturing longer sequences of activity.

Refer to the camera's internal menu (accessed via the display screen and control buttons) to select your preferred operating mode and adjust settings such as delay, sensitivity, and time-lapse options.

Trigger Speed and Lighting

The camera boasts a trigger speed of less than a second, ensuring minimal delay in capturing events. The 21 high-intensity infrared LEDs provide a lighting range of up to 60 feet, enabling clear night vision capture without disturbing wildlife or alerting intruders.

Maintenance

Battery Life

With average use, the camera can achieve up to one year of battery life. To maximize battery life, consider using high-quality alkaline or lithium batteries. Monitor the battery indicator on the camera's display.

Cleaning and Storage

  • Wipe the camera lens and IR LEDs periodically with a soft, clean cloth to ensure optimal image quality.
  • Keep the camera free from dirt, dust, and debris.
  • When storing the camera for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
  • Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting

  • Camera not powering on:

Ensure batteries are correctly installed with proper polarity and are not depleted. Check that the power switch is in the "ON" position.

  • No photos/videos being recorded:

Verify that an SDHC card is inserted and properly formatted. Check if the card is full. Ensure the camera is in the correct operating mode (photo or video) and that motion detection settings are appropriate for the environment.

  • Poor image/video quality at night:

Ensure the IR LEDs are not obstructed and are clean. Check the distance to the subject; the effective lighting range is up to 60 feet. Low battery levels can also affect IR performance.

  • Short battery life:

Use high-quality batteries. Frequent triggers, extreme temperatures, and extensive video recording can reduce battery life. Consider adjusting trigger sensitivity or recording duration.
