Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and proper use of your Thomas & Friends TrackMaster Motorized Train Engine, model FJK58. This battery-powered toy train is designed for preschool children aged 3 years and older and is compatible with Thomas & Friends TrackMaster track sets (sold separately).

Safety Information

  • Age Recommendation: This toy is suitable for children aged 3 years and older.
  • Battery Safety: Always use 2 AAA batteries as specified. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Insert batteries with correct polarity (+/-). Remove exhausted batteries promptly. Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Keep batteries away from small children.
  • Supervision: Adult supervision is recommended during play.
  • Choking Hazard: This toy contains small parts and is not suitable for children under 3 years due to potential choking hazards.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the train engine.
  2. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver (not included), unscrew the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 2 new AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.

2. Track Placement

Place the train engine onto a compatible Thomas & Friends TrackMaster track or playset. Ensure all wheels are properly seated on the rails.

Operating Instructions

  1. After battery installation and placing the train on the track, locate the ON/OFF switch. This switch is typically found on the top or side of the engine.
  2. Flip the switch to the 'ON' position to activate the motorized action. The train will begin to move along the track.
  3. To stop the train, flip the switch back to the 'OFF' position.

Maintenance

Cleaning

  • Wipe the train engine with a clean, damp cloth to remove dust and dirt.
  • Do not immerse the toy in water or use harsh cleaning agents.

Battery Care

  • Remove batteries if the toy will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Dispose of exhausted batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

Troubleshooting
