1. Introduction

The Wolverine MovieMaker Pro (MM100PRO) is a fully automated film digitizer designed to convert 8mm and Super 8 movie reels into high-quality 1080P MJPEG-4 (MP4) digital video files. 3. Setup

Follow these steps to set up your MovieMaker Pro for first use:

  1. Power Connection: Connect the provided Power Adapter to the DC 12V port on the rear of the MovieMaker Pro and plug it into a power outlet.
  2. SD Card Insertion: Insert an SD/SDHC card (up to 32GB, not included) into the SD card slot on the rear of the unit. The device requires a memory card to power on.

4. Operating Instructions

Once the MovieMaker Pro is set up and film is loaded, follow these instructions to digitize your films:

  1. Power On: Press the Power button () to turn on the device. The display will show the Wolverine logo.
  2. Menu Navigation: Use the Menu/Mode button to access the main menu. Use the Up and Down arrows to navigate through options like Record, Playback, and Rewind. Press Enter to select.
  3. Recording Settings: Before recording, you can adjust settings such as Exposure, Sharpness, and Frame Adjustment. Access these through the menu. It is recommended to set Sharpness to "Low" for optimal results.
  4. Start Recording: Select "Record" from the menu and press Enter. The device will begin frame-by-frame digitization. The progress will be displayed on the screen.
  5. Monitor Progress: The built-in LCD screen allows you to monitor the digitization process.
  6. Stop Recording: Press the Start/Stop button to pause or stop the recording at any time.
  7. Playback: To review your digitized videos, select "Playback" from the menu. You can also connect the device to a TV using the included TV cable for larger viewing.
  8. Rewinding Film: After recording, you will need to rewind the film. Select "Rewind" from the menu. For larger reels, using a separate projector or editor for rewinding may be faster and reduce wear on the digitizer.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your MovieMaker Pro:

  • Cleaning the Film Gate: Regularly use the provided dust blower to clear any dust or debris from the film gate and lens area. Dust can affect the quality of the digitized images.
  • General Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the MovieMaker Pro in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and excessive dust.
